My MM is a 04 300A w/ 43K and has has it's first problem. The problem is with the climate control or lack there of. I cannot get the air to switch from the defrost to any of the other functions i.e., vent, floor, etc.... There is outside air comming in through the defrost on the dash while the CCS is turned off and at 70 mph it is loud. I was able to drop by the dealer last Friday about 15 minutes before the guys where ready to clock out for the weekend and the told me theres likely a door stuck in the air box, he said it was located inside the car behind the glove box.
Please give me your suggestions or a quick fix. I really hope that the dash does not need to come out because I use this MM as a limousine and cannot have a squeeky car.
Thanks

Someone posted several months ago,
The whole electronics went out for hvac,I think Ford ate it under ESP(extended warranty)I remember the bill was in the $1500.00 range.
If the dealer does the repair, There is no reason that anything has to rattle or squeek.
Tell them this upfront,And you may get them to pay close attention to your needs.

PS. let us know how it turns out!

These are the things that drove my decision to buy the ESP extended warranty. Even though I've modded the engine and would have to eat the repair costs if I blow it up, things like climate control, power window motors, rear end clutches, etc will easily pay for the cost of the warranty.

My climate control went out on my 1997 grand marquis. The dealer started replacing expensive parts that did not fix the problem. The easiest part to change is the control head in the dash. This can be bought for $75-100 at your local used parts outlet and can be replaced in 1 hour. This fixed my problem! Good luck.

The HVAC system works on vacuum. It defaults to defrost in the event of a vacuum loss. Check all of your vacuum lines under the hood leading to the inside of the car and inside the car. Listen real close for a vacuum leak. If all is ok, I would be leaning toward an A/C control head.
