CEG is a site for owners of SVT Contours and Contours in general.
We are having an annual meet in Ft Wayne IN this year.

Since my Contour is not running right now I will be taking the Marauder.
I would like to extend an invitation to any fellow Marauder owners that may be interested in checking out some modded SVT's and other fun planned at this meet.

Some may be thinking, "Contour, yeah right" but hey, we're all Ford guys right?
CEG is an interesting bunch that has a loyal following and are passionate about thier cars.
It reminds me a lot of this one!

I thought at the very least someone could make it out for the track day at Osceola Dragway.
I've had some spirited debates with some of the skeptics on CEG about how fast our cars really are.
And this would be a great chance to call them out.

I was going to post in one of the regional forums but I thought I would open this up to more people around the Midwest and elsewhere.

Let me know if this is something you might be interested in.
This should prove to be a good time and should anyone choose to come the first drink is on me.

Here is the detailed info on the meet:

That sounds cool. Not too far away. By then my blower should be on and the track sound good.

I know that the Countour can handle pretty well but what can one do at the strip?

I know that the Countour can handle pretty well but what can one do at the strip? They handle great! And a modded SVT can reach upper 12's. I'm not sure what their best times are though. I've heard some guys putting down close to 400 hp at the wheels so I think they may be able to run faster than 12's but don't quote me.

If you Big S or anyone else wants to check it out let me know for sure and shoot me a PM.

I just read in one of my magazine subsciptions an interview with John Colletti.
They asked him if he had any regrets about unfinished business at SVT...
He said that he was really sorry to see the Contour SVT program die because the car still had so much potential.
He mentioned a turbo AWD version was in the future for the Contour SVT.... Too bad :(

I just read the interview in 5.0 Mustangs & Super Fords...June '05 /pages 226-227

A big problem with the Contour is that I'm a 4XL and the Contour is a 38 Reg.

Owning my Marauder is a lot like having an SVT Contour in the sense that so many people would strain their necks admiring it as I drive by and also trying to figure out what it is. I still get that in the Contour and the thing is seven years old now. And the same thing happens to me ALL the time in the M. I'm sure that will be the case too when the M is seven years old too.

Are you on Contour.org? Tried registering tonight but the six digits needed to finish the registration, wouldn't load. I'm trying to find any info on how to open the hood with a possible broken release cable. I've gotten good info from the site before, but now it has that annoying registration pop-up and won't let me use the search tool.

Yes Ken it's Contour .org. Keep trying to register, I've not heard of others having any problems. It's worth it, they can help you figure out what's wrong with your hood. I did a search though and found this out. I hope it helps and the link works.

Check out the site and see if you might be interested in going to the meet in Ft. Wayne.

The link worked, not much help, I'll try spraying a ton of WD-40, and hope that it will pop. Already removed the inside handle and pulled with vise-grips. My 99 F150 has the opposite problem. Once you open the hood, can't get it to close, first latch catches but not second. So it stays open, gotta keep slamming until it catches, used a quarter can of WD-40 on that hood latch.
