I want to tint my MM using titanium film but have been warned that using thisy type of tint will impact my radio reception. Can anyone out there verify this? Any use a titanium (metallic) film tint?

It's possible since the Marauder's radio antenna is in the rear glass (ever notice ALL the lines back there?).

My MM had tint when I purchased it last September. I had it removed a few weeks ago. I have noticed no difference in radio reception, better or worse, either way.

Was it a metallic tint? I have my windows tinted with non-metallic tint and don't notice any difference either.

If the metallic tint is applied to the -inside- of the window, the antenna is still on the "outside" of the tint... Should work just fine.

And with the 'metallic tint' under it, if anything it may make the reception better.

I have no clue as to metalli or not...it looked dark from the outside, not reflective or mirror-like as I think metallic tinting might be. I am not very well versed in tinting technology. :dunno:

:coolman: My MM is tinted and I can't speak for the other side, but I have no reception problems to speak of!!

True, I didn't think about that. To my knowledge all tint is applied on the inside of the window. If anything a "metallic" tint would improve reception.

It could be something good. Could be something bad. That's the fun of RF.
My advice is to not do it. Getting those antenna glass antennas at the right impedance takes a lot of time. It's likely the influence will hurt rather than help.

I, for some reason, lose all radio reception every time I turn on the rear window defroster?????

Sounds like a bad ground either the radio or the rear defrost?
