Has anyone used an 18 x 8" rim with a +40mm offset and a P255/45-18 tire on the front of their Maruder?
The reason I ask is because the OEM 18 x 8" rim has a +50mm offset.
This means that a +40mm offset will push the rim 10mm (3/8") to the outside/closer to the fender lip.
This, in conjunction with mounting a wider tire has me concerned that the combo will stick out too far and possibly rub the front fender.
I don't want to have my Marauder look like a Ricer with the front tires hanging out.... :puke:
Anyone gone this route already?

If you did, we'd have to go upside your head with a NAWS bottle...

Some tire places that also sell wheels will allow you to have a "test" fit done if you're considering a purchase. you might want to check that out. I'd think that a mere 3/8" outward wouldn't make it look like Rice-A-Roni but I guess the proof is in the puting.

I would say they will rub.
The 255/45 is the stock rear size, right?
I have them all the way around on mine, with the front lowered by about 3/4" and they are close, but no rubbing. Go 10mm closer and I'm sure they will rub.

245/55R18 is the stock rear size.

A 255/45R18 has a very close aspect Ratio to the factory fronts while giving you 20 more mm of width, but a lower profile tire.

Yep, the P255/45-18 tire is VERY close to the OEM front tire (P235/50-18) diameter, but it is @ 3/4 " wider.
That means that the tire will 'stick out' @ 3/8" more on each side of the 8" wide rim.
Add to that another 3/8" for the +40mm offset rims and the new tire/rim combo sticks out 3/4" more/closer to the fender lip than the OEM combo.

Well negative camber will be your friend if its tight, but I think you will have no problems.
