First, a BIG THANK YOU to all of the fine hosts in Commerce. What a great event. Second, thanks to Marty, Todd, Brian, Kathy, and all the "Team" folks who made the Mrs. and I feel right at home. Here's a "nutshell" of the weekend, and why Marauders rule. On Friday, I packed enough "stuff" into the car to keep 2 adults and one dog reasonably comfortable for a 4 month stay away from home, and comfortably drove 120 miles (more or less) from Huntsville to the Chattanooga area. It was moving day as Georgie and myself start our next job here in Dixie. We unpacked and set up here in Hixson, then threw some stuff together for the weekend, and off to Commerce. On the way, it seemed that the entire East coast was commuting from the I75/I285 intersection to Lawrenceville GA. Six hours in traffic, but fortunately we were in a Marauder, so the wait wasn't really uncomfortable. Checked into the hotel, called Marty and found L/K was running awesome, had a late dinner, and went to the car wash. While there, a bevy of Mustangs showed up, circling the lot, trying to screw up the courage to pounce. Then, something in the air spooked them. They stampeded off into the night leaving me to wonder what was going on. Didn't take long to find out. Into the carwash pulled L/K followed by the trusty "Maraudertruck." We washed, vacuumed, laughed, talked and basically got the whole weekend kicked off on the right foot. A quick brefess on Saturday morning with a few of the ABC folks, then off to the track. Running wise, things got slow on Saturday, a few catastrophic Mustang failures oiled the track, but it was fun. I ended up beating myself in the third round by sleeping at the light, but hey, it was getting late. Then came Sunday. I set out with the goal of putting as many Mustangs on the trailer as I could. I got four before a redlight in the quarter finals sent me packing (instead of watching the light I was busy polishing the trophy in my mind). Sad part, I knew I had that guy too as we were hot lapping at that point in time and his steed was getting a little cranky from the heat. Bottom line on my car, moved a boatload of luggage, averaged 23 mpg, and ran my best times ever in the 1/4 in the heat of the day with 88+K on the odometer. Not a weekend you could do in a pony car. My 88K mile daily driver is faster and quicker than a lot of 5.0 and newer GT's with less than half the mileage. Pretty consistent too. My times were mid 14.5's (dial in 14.58) to low 14.6's all weekend. Bottom line on a FFW event, be there, it'ss a blast! Oh, and Marty and Glen, get a hold of me via pm, em (misquamarauder1@aol.com) or cell 401-339-8562. Georgie got some great movies and stills of you guys. I'd like to get a copy to you.

Paul I will call you.

Folks, I can only confirm what Paul said. It was great to share one of the best weekends of my life with them. They are too cool for school! And Paul, like I told Georgie, you guys need to come visit us in NY. We'll leave the light n!
