I hate to sound ignorant, but what is the difference between a 300a anda 300b--- how can you decipher

Should be indicated on the window sticker.

300B has traction control
most have no separate clock and no remote gas door release
also, mini spare

There's lots more in other posts. You may want to search on "decontent."

As indicated above the designation is on the window sticker. Go to the Mercurey Web site, click on dealer inventory and you can bring up the window stickers of the cars they have in stock. John

To Kingsford,
From what I have seen, the 300B package has traction control but deletes the following:
full size spare (was a front-sized tire on a silver rim, now a "doughnut")
locking gas door* (rust proofing plug covers hole in door panel)
stand alone clock* (newer 300B MM in line with CV sport)
front seat pockets (next to the power lumbar switch)
manual E-brake release#
plain valve cover lids#
"B" pillar posts in flat black@

* Early 300B MMs still had this.
#One person in the forum stated that his/her MM didn't have this. I have not seen one without it......yet
@ Difficult to tell in black but the new blue and silver show that it is color keyed.

Hope that this helps.

You know this really frys my stones!!!Ford/Mercury should be horsewhipped!!!!You come out with the most expensive Grand Marquise/Marauder make it look like a Crown Vic on steroids and then find ways to cheapen it up!!!Taking the remote fuel door off a Preimiem Level Automobile is just plain stupied!!

I've been waiting for the remote fuel door CLOSER. Especially now that you can see the gas cap is still open by looking in the driver's side rear view mirror. Can't see it's open on my Tbird. I always put the cap back on, but I've often had a problem closing the door.
Henry or Edsel, if your listening, tell your granddaugher to put the remote fuel door closer back on the MM.

The cheapening is all in the name of cost cutting. Don't you think we should have working courtesy lights in the front doors rather than refelctors; what about a quality glove box; maybe a carpet w/o a giant gash in the front passenger side.....

little things make a difference

I doubt the MM will be in the line up past the 2005 model year. The sales figures are just not there to support it.... not that Ford advertised it....
