Window tint, because that's all she would let me do at the time. Now she wants a built motor and stupid charger, go figure.

My first modification to the Maruder was 4.10 gears which I did with my brother's help. I didn't install any chip, or handheld tuner at that time until a couple weeks later, and I was amazed that the gears did absolutely nothing alone. Then when I installed the chip that was burned for the 4.10 gears, the car was .50 seconds faster in the quartermile with a trap speed of 96 MPH compared to the 94 MPH trap speed in the stock form with the 3.55 gears.

my conclusion from that experience is that these new cars these days have so many things that are controlled by the computers, that the computer will not even allow the car to take advantage of taller gears until the stock computer settings are cracked with a chip or with a handheld tuner. because I don't believe that the chip that I purchased made a .50 second difference all by itself. I believe it was a combination of the gears and the chip working together that accomplished that. But the chip was needed to enable the car to take advantage of the new gear ratio. (weird uh?).

my next mod was 4.56 gears since the 4.10's weren't enough for me, which I installed myself. but looking back on all of that, I should've just went with the Trilogy supercharger in the first place. Oh well, live and learn.

^^^^^^DITTO^^^^^merc's comment......Window Tint when the car was a week old. Next mod was a K&N 'plate' filter for the OEM airbox.
Then all Hell broke loose on the mods... :D

I agree 100%....I did lots of mods on my own BEFORE finding this website.
I wish I had just spent the $6000 on a Trilogy first, THEN started adding all my other mods as $$$$ allowed.
I would have had a lowww 13 second Marauder from the beginning....and would not have grenaded my oil pump gears.

I think when the loan is paid off, I am just gonna start mailing a check every month to Dennis Reinhart until he has enough to do the works!

A trailer hitch.
Class II from U-Haul. Mainly for a bicycle rack... and in case an emergency happens where I find myself needing to tow a motorbike.

Then a K&N.

After my experiences with the mods on my Acura - I really want to keep my car stock. I intend for it to last ten years. I can attest that the only parts that failed me in the Acura were the mods. Especially the brakes.

However... a custom tune is SOOOO tempting.

Window tint, 2 days after purchase. Reinhart flash with cooler plugs about a year later, made the car the fastest it has ever been in the 1/4 mile.

My first mod was so long ago, I can't remember it anymore. I think it was a combo install, FRP 4:10s, DR chip, 180 stat, and Denso IT20s. A few months later, after adding the PI T/C, UD pulleys, and MMX driveshaft, I sold that MM, and bought Kenny Brown's experimental prototype of the Marauder S.

Financially speaking, it's been "down hill" from there, but I would do it all again starting tomorrow.

Anyone interested in buying my "1x"? Can't wait for a "do over."

but looking back on all of that, I should've just went with the Trilogy supercharger in the first place. This isn't the first time Billy's said this, and this is exactly the reason my first mod has been my only mod.

[Note to BillyGman, Carfixer, MI2QWK4U, FiveO, and MikesMerc. Thanks again for all your input last fall. In the long run, you guys saved me a ton of money! ]

One year ago last Friday was the first mod on my car. Window tint at Custom Solar in Atlanta. I met Todd Fisher that day and we went up to FFW to meet the boys at Team Ford. After driving Todd's car, my plans to spend only $1500 on mods went right out the window. The original plan was gears, stat, chip, plugs. Well, that happened soon after... then sway bar, spoiler, Eibachs, Baer brakes, speakers, subwoofer, gauges, water pump..... That $1500 has been spent many times over.

Saturday, a year and a week to my first mod, I will be back at Team once again. This time it will be a Metco watts link going on, plus QA1 shocks (the first stage of the Naake suspension kit going on), the Addco front sway bar and a Metco drive shaft safety loop. I'll get a change on my Royal Purple and a new K&N oil filter goes on. And I'm having the fuel filter changed again.

I'm heading towards a "week of mods" this summer, when I will leave my car with the boys at Team for the S-55 tail light mod, repainting my front bumper cover, some upholstery work and install of the Naake coil overs. I'm also having Meggamaxx install an amp for the cabin speakers to complement the subwoofer amp and install tweaters. I'm having my tranny get the J-mod.

In the fall I move into the engine compartment, where there will be a major bling campaign. Lots of parts are heading to Nashville for chroming. My wheels are getting sent there for repair and chroming, and while this happens (it takes 10-12 weeks) I'm going to run on some Coddies. I'm so in love with the Coddies I saw last ween on an SS, I may not put the MM wheels back on.

There is so much left to do, limited only by my budget and ability to make overtime. Should be a lot of fun, and I hope I never stop finding something else to mod on the car.

Window Tint was my first mod. With that complete and a trunk liner on order, I'm done the aesthetic mods... Now that I've owned the car for almost 1 year, I'm just about ready to start with the go-fast goodies :burnout:
