Was in an Advance Auto Parts store today and their Redline oil was on sale for $3.00 / quart. Bought all they had (14 quarts of 5w/30, enough for 2 oil changes). I think they will not be carrying Redline oil anymore.
Just an FYI........

I did the same thing last week, only 5w-20. manager told me Advance was going to quit handling it, and all of the stores that stocked it should be getting rid of it.

Redline typically sells for $8-$9/qt. Selling it at $3/qt means something is fishy.

Nothing fishy.... Advanced Auto isn't going to carry it any more so thay are getting rid of what stock they have.

Most retailers mark the prices down to low low prices when they want to liquidate a product fast. Some vendors have contracts that say the retailer can't carry a particular brand or product if they are to carry their product so, most likely, Advance has a new agreement with a new vendor and has to get rid of anything that says redline before shipments of this new product will be sent.
I'm in retail and its a pretty common practice.

I'm just going to throw this out here, and you can draw your own conclusions..... I once used this so called "Hi-performance" gear lube in the rear end of one of my former cars. For clarity I'll mention exactly what it was. It was Moroso "Climbing Gear" lube, and it's specifically for rear ends and MANUAL transmissions only. It was also the same weight that the original spec on the car called out for.
The bottom line is that two weeks later the rear end began making noise which progressively became worse. Since the car had over 100K on it, and I had only payed $4,500 three years before that for the car, I just kept on driving it, and two weeks after that, the rear end literally broke up into pieces stranding me on the road. There was a puddle of gear oil underneath the car, and there were pieces of the rear end housing all over the asphalt. Keep in mind that I had never had any noises nor problems with the rear end of that car prior to that, and I had bought it with 40,000 miles on it.
I was just doing some "preventative maintainence" by draining the old fluid, and replacing it with that special "improved" stuff.
