Is anyone running the Raptor Data Logger? I am considering purchasing this to keep a closer eye on what the car is doing behind the scenes. With the amout I've spent on this car and mods to it, I think this is cheep insurance. Is it?

No :flamer: please, I searched and didnt find the answer.

Thanks guys,

I believe you can get the same software for Palm.

I use one every day on the dyno, its the best tool I have ever used for diagnosing as well as tuning all EEC 5 systems, I will put a screen shot up later on today we are putting a 05 GT on the dyno now. I will data log the run and show the graphs. This is also a great tool to use on the street for tuning as well.

They're not giving the Raptor for free with the SCT tuner package. I should have waited a year or so to get a free Raptor, but it's really just a very very fast Ford datalogger. I'm not sure it can be used on other cars in case you want to datalog a friend's problematic car, etc...

I'm just using Car Code which for me was $120 and covers all OBD-II vehicles (datalogging, DTC reading, DTC clearing, etc...)

While it's a great idea to be able to log your AFR real-time, you will need the $400 LM1 wideband O2 sensor along with the $400 Raptor, in conjunction with the $800 SCT PRP or just $800 PRP/Raptor + $400 LM1 wideband, not to mention you need access to dyno rollers unless you want to risk running your car in 3rd gear WOT on an open road somewhere (not a good idea).

The Xcalibrator can be custom programmed by 300+ custom tuning dealers across the country.

The Xcalibrator can hold 3 custom tunes plus stock.

The same Xcalibrator device can be used on a 1996 mustang, 2005 mustang, 6.0 diesel, or a 1996 Taurus. Yes, its VIN locked to one vehicle as the Predator is.

Predator

On screen display.
On device tuning.
Limited data logging. (1 sample a second)
You can only Data log five parameters at any one time

Xcal 2, will allow the on screen display that you the customer have requested.
The Xcal 2 will have on device tuning.
Free software from SCT
The Xcal 2 will have Fast data logging 60+ samples a second logging 20 parameters at any time. Below is a link of a configuration file I use on the dyno, I can monitor any parameter the EEC sees, yes if you want to data log A/F you will have to buy a wide band, but this is a great tool to be used by the novice as well as the serious race fan as a lot of us are. There is never a need to send the X cal back for a file upgrade, any SCT dealer can send you a file that you the customer can make many changes to your self.

I'm anxiously waiting for this product to hit! I've held off on buying a programmer, because of this unit's capabilities. I've been seeing adverts for it, since March. Is the three week window definitive?

As soon as its available I will post it, and I guess now would be a good time to see if there is interest in a group buy.

Yes, I use a Raptor and an LM-1. If the Xcal2 had been available when I bought mine, I would have purchased the Xcal2. Would have cost me far less than the Raptor and the other goodies I purchased (SCT Pro Racer Kit) software wise.

The Datalogging is a valuable tool for checking your results in every day driving. But, it won't take the place of a Dyno tune.

Just my 2 cents.
