This week I was stopped at an intersection waiting to make a right turn, and there was some construction equipment parked which really blocked my view of oncoming traffic. I did the best I could to see what was coming, and made the turn only to see a truck coming at me that I couldn't see before. I gunned it hard enough to get around the turn quickly, but not so much to slide out of control.
As I made the hard turn, I naturally slid hard across the seat, even though I was belted in. Now this is nothing new, we've heard complaints about the lack of lateral support in our seats before.
The other part that kind of scared me was that my right foot almost completely slipped off of the accellerator. I have often noticed that the floor dips down right where I put my heel, and it's hard to keep my foot in a comfortable spot for long.
I am going to try some skateboard tape on my accellerator to get more friction and less slip there.
Any ideas about the "heel slip" problem on the floor mat? Double sided duct tape?

Have you heard about the CG-Lock? It's an add-on to your existing seatbelt that cinches the belt at a certain length. I have one that I use daily. I think it was primarily made for people who road race their daily drivers, instead of a full 4 or 5 point system. I have one and it has to be installed upside down to work properly on our seatbelts. It cost about $40.

Reminds me of a time when I first got my license .....

77 Cougar with leather seats ... that I had just gooped up pretty good(aka treated - get your minds out of the gutter :P ).

Went to take a corner a bit quick .....

Was like the damn seat slid right out from under me.

Car was ALL OVER the road( I didn't believe in seat belts then which I firmly believe in now).

Fortunately I managed to upright myself fairly quick & got the car under control.

BK Grand Marquis, I bought one of these seat belt locks, and it wouldn't work on our seat belts. You say you installed it upside down? Got any hints? Since I have the thing just gathering dust in the garage, I'd love to use it.
