When I left work tonight I was for a small suprise. First I parked on hill, so I set the parking brake. Habbit. But when I was backing up some was pulling in the lot so I pushed on the the brake. It felt musshy (lack of a better word). I pulled out from the lot and did a short drive to a convinice store and the brakes seem to tight up then loosen up  I left and when home car stopped fine but just didnt feel right. Anyone else have this happen or just me:alone:
I will let the rauder sit till I do some more checking. And testing later this week. On the down side Got to slum it in a 2001 Town Car, Catier, Loaded! Thanks MOM!!!!!:D :D
Thanks Patrick

All the newer Panther platform cars have a weird ABS system to them. They've compromised for old people not being able to put the pedal to the floor in an emergancy situation (I kid you not!), so if you apply a quick gab to teh pedal, it'll feel really tight. Otherwise, the pedal feels somewhat loose, but normal.
Is this maybe what you're experiencing? Notice any ABS/Brake light coming on?

What Linc is saying is that the brakes system has an emergency or panic boost. If you panic stop the brake pedal is "boosted" i. e. it gets hard fast. Normal brkes are typical Ford 4 wheel disc for the panther platform this imo is mushy and real unlinear. The way most older people prefer them. They really should have gave the MM a more firm and linear brake pedal feel.

Well I see it's not just me... .thought about adressing the dealer on this issue but I see it seems to be a common thing[mushy brakes] I would probably be wasting breath. A slight pump on the brakes does raise the pedal on mine. Luckily I haven't had to panic stop yet.......we'll see.

And you fell for it LOL
If it was a feature on a MB or BMW they would have said it was a "great safety feature, providing extra boost in extreme braking conditions" ;)

Well things got interesting. First is been raining down here in the south. So story gets good. When I left for work, It started like this put on the brake and have a sticky feal to it. Then it started to fade. about a half a mile to work. I would tape the brake it stay there then let back up. A split second later. Left work at 1 am because of very little traffic. Put on the hazzards and took one very long drive home!!!!!! I also noticed that a soon as I touched the brake with little pressure It acted like I gave it more, then the other mess. Could the be a prob with the foot brake pedal switch??? Anyway I am haveing her towed to the dealership in the morning! Oh and to make it worse!!!!!!!!! Mom needs Town Car so stuck driving a Chevy S-10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry chevy guys!!!!
So Oldies get in your prune juice and the young have your oats and let the GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I appreciate all the help, Means alot!!!!! Thanks All, Patrick.

Well, well, well...um stanleyk; you're a lawyer type...I think we got ourselves a case of "age discrimination" here. You can file it against Mr. LML on behalf of me, todd, Wolfe, the Sarge, Willie, Moparzz, yourself, directedby, Dennis, jgc, CRUZ, Stealth, beemer...let's see, at $50,000 each, that would come to...um...er...cipher the nought...damn, where's my adding machine and my bi-focals?

Problem is RF, the truth would be an absolute defense! Besides, what assets does LML have anyway. On second thought, there is that black car he drives....What are his plate numbers again....

When I asked what was wrong he just said busted. But was the guy in charge of the service department. Other than putting gas in, I dont know too much. But when I get her back monday I will get the tech that did the work to give me more info.

When I go there and get the Car I will corner the tech and find out exactly what went wrong. I am not mad at the dealership. I have been buying my toys there for 15 yrs. Just miss my Rauder!! I will find out exactly what happened and pass it on as soon as I can. Work and a few doc appointments with the folks may have me tied up for a few days. Thanks All!!!!!:bows:  Patrick
