Part 1 of 2 of my Naake Suspension upgrade. These QA1 adjustable shocks can be bought separately, as I did. They are gorgeous, and you can really tell the improvement with them on. Not to mention you can reach under the car and change the dial settings on each side to make them firmer or softer.

These are taken as install was in progress, so some shots may show things that need tightening.

Here's the oem shocks, with 47K on them:

And those automotive jewelry as shocks, the QA1`s --

Very nice Donny, did you install this yourself? If so what were the torque specs and installation time?

My part of the installation was to hand Scott the money, then sit on a stool next to his toolbox and talk to him as he did it.

Very nice Donny,.. I've been giving those Naake's more and more thought.

Can you feel any difference with only the rears installed?

What setting do you have your rears set at?

To start I set my rears at 4 then tried 5 but returned to 4 for best overall drivability. Front shocks are set at 5.

For driving through the curves, 5 rear and 6 front is really fun.

These shocks are awsome!

Enjoy!

Mine are set at 6 up front, and 4 in the rears...all the time...

It's like it's on rails!

Hmmmm. I'm on the high end. I had them at 8 front and rear. Then when I autocrossed with them I had them at 9. I haven't changed it since. It's a rough ride on the pot holes but otherwise, I don't really mind.

... so you gave up the ride control/auto level or did they integrate with the system ? Debating on following in your footsteps Donny....

Absolutely! I need to drive on them some more to decide if I want to change the settings. At "4" it is firmer than OEM feel, but I think my old shocks were about clapped out. I will run on them a few days, then try a 3 and a 5 just to see how I like it.

No, this shock does not interfere with or change the airbag ride leveling system. These shocks are adjustible for firmness or softness of response. You can set them to preference, then easily reach down and change the settings for, say firmer response if you are going to go out and burn up the twisties, or softer, if you are about to go on a long interstate road trip or are carrying passengers who don't like the feel of "sporty" suspensions.

Where can I get a set of these?Off the shelf QA1's do not have the Marauder specific bushings and spacers needed for installation. Naake provides these.

You can get them at www.naake.com (http://www.naake.com/) - click on the Marauder link.

Also....ANYONE who has the widened rear rims from Lidio...you're just plain silly not to have these over the OEM shocks...they give you ALL the clearance you need.

Whats the best setting front and rear for rough roads, potholes, and railroad tracks? Dealing with a lot of that, would like to save my front end alignment, lots of tough terrain on and around the base. Thanks, -kjs-

Last I checked the Stocker Stars/Qa1/HAL 12-way adjustable shocks were $150 USD each.

I found the ones designed for 79-02 Panthers but never felt the urge to buy them due to the cost.
