To All; Thank you for the knowledge, and inspiration to motivate me in my quest to get into the 12 sec arena!
I am not getting a resounding approval from the wifester with comments like just last nite;"you're not takin' the car drag racing anymore!":argue: I just bought bungs to have drilled and welded berfore the cats!
Me; "I have scheduled at least three events this season, and was planning on squeezing at LEASTa couple local ditty's as well!":duel: Her;"I dont want you to blow up the motor! "Thanks BillyGMan! She saw me watching that vid you posted, on those guy's blowing that Cobra intake to smitherienes! :D
The saga Rolls on,
her;"What about the transmission?,..Isn't that Hard on the Transmission!!!? Me; (lying my azz off)No!
Now I feel like a moron!:o
Her;"Well,..I just don't want the car to break from you racing it all over the Place!"
The "Well", was a good sign,it is the soft spot, that I knew if I played it out just right ,I would get little more resistance.
Me;
"I'm not going to be",(using her silly phrase)"Breaking the car, racing it all over the place!"
So now I must not break the car all over the place
Geez!,that's easy enough,it can only break in one place!:P
Anyway, I thought I might share the trials and tortures associated with my new sickness!and own up to all !
:burnout: see ya at the track:D

Assimilate her into MM.net. Worked for me.
Most wifes are jealous of other women and mens cars. Anything that takes your attention off them is a "bad" thing.

This post is the exact reason that I do not mix money with my current wife. The car belongs to and is paid for by me. I'll do exactly as I damn well please with it.

Until she reads this.
There are certain things she knows better than to fool with, my car and my firearms collecting. -or- would you rather I spend my spare time and money at the corner bar dear?... :D

I have over 40K miles and over 100 runs at the track and have not broken anything!
My oil analysis was done at 40K miles and all wear is normal.
What you are telling her is the truth! :)

The going joke in my family is that she wants me to drive my old 98CV once in a while to keep it going. I rode that beast hard for 100K miles (always when warmed up though) and never had a problem. Her Contort err Contour had only 76k on it and kept breaking down.
Incidently my 98 has 112K on it and was still pumping out stock HP and TQ as of last summer with old sparks on it.
Now for me to get a S/C...I'm working on her. Just like a car...gotta get her warmed up before you...well you know.

:D Yikes! Your latest addition looks like it turned your Marauder white. I heard there were some paint issues, but are you going so fast the paint flew off.
j/k I might me a bit past Mid-life by the time I get the S/C.

Hey Brad, I know that every situation is different, but have you tried sharing the Marauder experience fully with your wife ? I take my wife to ALL Marauder events, including racing, she also has gone down the 1320 by herself and has better reaction time than me (all done with one foot).
Anyways is just a thought, the MM. really brought my wife and I closer together, the damn car is better than a marriage counselor.:D

We both went to MVII,she had a gas !
She really turned around, after meeting some of the members.
She likes to watch:D
She has no taste for speed or acceleration:depress:
Maybe if your wife called my wife and prepared her for the event?
I would love to get her down the strip..She has driven the car more than I have.
I on the other hand, can only claim, that I have used more gas.

Heck, my wife wants to know when we are going to go to the dragstrip. I think she will shove me outta the driver's seat.

Bradley GThe first time my girl went down the track she was holding a camcorder, I asked her to record the run for me, at first she didn't want to do it; but she agreed, afterwards I asked her what she thought of it; she smiled and said she enjoyed it.
The next time out to the track I asked her if she wanted to ride with me, she did...then I said now is your turn to drive, she was nervous about it so she wanted me to ride along... I talked her thru the approach and the light tree and off we went. The next run she went alone, did a one foot launch with a .007 reaction time, ran a 14.5 @ 97.3 mph... not too shabby.
If your wife is a good driver she can do this, just do a slow progression like we did....:D
