For some reason vans are always trying to race me. Vans and pickup trucks.
A week ago it was a full size van.
Yesterday it was a Ranger.
The van... I seriously think that he believed he had a shot.
I think the Ranger was just wanting to hear my exhaust or something.

Now if you feel jealous toward the Astrovan... I know someone who'll sell you one for a great price. Even has a futon mattress in the back. Which isn't good for horsepower... but it's definately good for absorbing stank. :D

I have the same problem with the pickups, seems every Titan thinks he's a speed demon.....Think they'll ever learn??

My memory of the '90s is a bit fuzzy, but wasn't there a RWD-V8 Chevy/GMC van produced a few years ago? If I'm right, what a street sleeper that could be...

Nothing wrong with starting off small for practice. Keep up the good work.

Kinda reminds me of the time I took out a Honda Element. I was in the right lane, which after the intersection turns into the merge lane coming off the cross street. The Element (which wasn't even from my province) was in the left lane beside me. So I had to switch lanes before the merge lane ends.

So the light turns green and I give it a little gas. Mr. Boxy car decides to have a little fun and "box" me in (no pun intended). Not having any of this, I just dropped my foot to the floor. Car downshifts back into first, exhaust just screams into full wail (right into Mr. Boxy's open passenger window). And it was all over after that. I had close to 10 car lengths on Mr. Boxy and the rest of the traffic after I peeked down at the speedo and was doing 120 km/h, already passing traffic that came off the merge lane. :D

I seem to have experienced the same thing with the Titans myself. There were Titans at the track, and this one guy claimed he was running low 14s with his truck, and later was smoked by a Stock V6 Mustang that was turning high 15s!

Those things need every last bit of the 305 horses they got!

It was actually worse when I had the Integra.
Trucks, modfified and stock and minivans constantly wanting to race.
After I'd beat them I nearly wanted to stop them just to ask what are they trying to do?
I think most of those people wanted to try to show the "ricer" a thing or two.

The van that I raced last week was a V-8 ten-fifteen year old thing. It's torque was evident in the first bit as it was pulling from me, but then my revs got up and I shot off in front of him.

Don't go beating on vans too much there fellas, i have video, somewhere, of an 80s caravan (the pastel blue ones with the imitation woodgrain down the side, c'mon i know you know what i'm talkin about) wasting a viper, i mean totally destroying it. I'm gonna have to hunt that down somewhere, i have it on a CD and see if i can't post it for you guys. It is absolutely hilarious.

BTW great kill! I won't bore anyone with the tough time i had runnin a 6-spd last night, yea this thing was crazy, nice little short throw shift lever on it, big ol' manufacturer decal down the side "SCHWIN"

LOL I love the stories on this board, you guys are all awesome!

Someone, not too long ago, posted a video of a 10 second Dodge Aries K with a turbo 4 wasting a Turbo Supra at the track... :awe:

You've got to watch out for the soccer moms around here... a cell-phone in one hand, a starbucks in the other, turned around and screaming at the kids while hurtling down the street at limit + 15.

Nothing brings out the instinct of self-preservation than a minivan in the rear-view mirror closing fast.

There's a guy up here with a Ford E-Series (fullsize van), with the 7.3L Power Stroke Turbo-diesel. Talk about a sleeper... With only a couple of simple, low-buck mods, the van is deep into the 14's. He just drives around, in this big block, smokin' the ricers :burnout:

On my way home yesterday I saw a suped up Astro Van. I wanted to race it, but traffic. Bummer.
It was awesome. Lowered front (I think it was the elaborate rusted and worn-out mod). Fenders that are a different color than the rest of the car... probably the exclusive "scrapyard" mod.

Then I dreamed of stuffing my Pontiac 400 that I still own in my buddy's AstroVan. Ah, the things that can be done with a fire-powered shoe horn and someone else's money (cause I certainly don't have enough cash to pull that off).
