That's cool. I like when they said "collectible".

I agree 100%.
I loved the Marauder when it was new. I thought, "awesome" Ford is finally making a car for me. Great looking, buckets, and a little extra sweetness under the hood. But the $35k price tag forced me to keep looking and keep the car that's paid for.
But for a used car.... suhweet! Winner = ME.

I am scared to own a Ford product. Hopefully I can keep this car running strong for as long as my previous ride. But that's what this forum helps with, right?

Same here. I loved the MM when I first laid my eyes on it. But for what they wanted new, ouch. Luckily, the previous owner of my car barely drove it, and I get the car I really wanted, at a much lower price. :banana2:

I caught on about ten years ago that I could afford a much nicer car if I bought "almost new" . No way could I have afforded the brand new price of a Marauder. Let someone else take the 25-33 percent "new" car hit. I pick them up when there is still some factory warranty left so I can take care of any problems up front.

I bought mine in July 03 for $23K. It was the only way that I would buy it.

Me too (ok early July). It was a big premium to be one of the first but there was no way I was gonna risk missing out.

Yeah, in truth I knew going in that I was going to take in the shorts, and I didn't (and still don't) really care. It'd be nice to have that extra money back now for mods, but all in all it was worth it.

I bought my 03 in January 04 with 3K on the odometer for 22.1. Helps to buy in the middle of a snowstorm!

I went to the LM dealer one day and saw it and said gotta have it.
Took the wife a week or two later and she sat in it and looked at me like I was out of my mind. She said can we afford this I said no but I'm getting it anyway. Now I can't get her out of it.

I waited till October 2004 before I got mine. After a year and a half of looking, test driving and foaming at the mouth I said I can't wait any longer.

:up:Zero percent interest, X-plan pricing helped sooth the pain of buying new.

Now I've got the ride I wanted soooo bad. I'm lovin' it! :D

I purchased my MM 08/03, New, with 277 miles. I told the dealer it must be a Demo with that much miles. We played tag for about 3hours untill we agreed on 26K which included that 4K Rebate and I picked up the Spoiler a week later they gave me with the deal. Eggie

When I saw the first concept pic,I was sold on my first new car, the Dealer sent me an invitation to see the preview of the the car, that a factory rep drove to the dealership. It was then I knew this is the car I want.

This article describes very well my experience.

The first owner of my '03, who passed away in the Fall of '04, paid $28.2 for the beast brand new, in March '03, when the gentleman was but two months shy of his 88th birthday! After five months of intensely searching for and pricing new and very low mile used ones, I stumbled across mine via the internet, which had been acquired from the gentleman's estate by a small-town, unaffiliated dealership, from which I was able to land it for $21.5K this past January, with all of 629 miles on the clock! The fella who sold the car to me, a principle of the dealership, was excellent to work with, but I believe that he really had no idea what he had on his hands.

Anyway, the beast even today has less than 1,100 miles on it. I will continue to drive it only sparingly (and not at all in the winter), and hope that the article's also correct about its future collectibility!

Got mine in Oct of 03 for 29K. Mrs TR wanted one of her own, and paid sticker for her 04 Last April.

Got mine in July of 02 for MSRP about an hour after they got it off the truck. They wanted a $3,000 premium for it.

As far as I know I got the first one in Southern California. Sure I paid more than many...but I do not regret it for an instant! I love this car :D

She's not my Barbara's lost sister, is she? Only difference is, Barb has her own rice cooker: ......Grandma's Aviator, and gets more kills than me. The word's out about the MM's in our area, and I get a lot of respect, not to mention, the little snots can't make up their minds if my Silver Birch is a cop car, or not. ;)

Got my MM in May of 04. 20 miles on it. Put a lot of money down, and brought my x-plan with me. No one else has ever owned my MM, and no one else ever will. It's mine. I didn't want it any other way.
