The goal of this thread is simple: Get everyone or a great majority to list their mods and their review, long or short, simple or sweet. A one-stop thread for everyone. The idea comes from this thread authored at StangNet: Click Here Before Posting (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=246291&page=1). This is a great idea, so great that with your participation this thread should be made a sticky over here at MercuryMarauder.net for each other's reference and our new members trying to figure out where to start.

RULES:
1) Only list Modifications done to your car as of now.
2) No posts flaming someone else for their review or their opinion of the modification they have done to their vehicle.
3) Lets stay consistent, each member post their modifications and review only. Preferably having the mod in bold type followed by a summary.
4) For most of you this will involve a lot of typing. If you don't want to type it all, maybe you will tomorrow, or another day, but the users with an extensive mod list are the most helpful users on this board.
5) Most importantly: No flaming on the subjects of Supercharger choices and the decision you made or the choice of oil/lubricant you choose to use. Same goes with the choice of Diablosport, Superchips, or any other tune as well as cold air intake setup. I ask that the moderators delete any post that puts this thread in that direction.

Many of you can spend all day searching various topics on different subjects you think our Marauder needs improving on. May it be handling, off the line performance, or an all around different car for the better due to the vast amount of different modifications. If there was one thread to search or look at, and keep looking at as user's update and post new modifications they just did to their Marauder, this is the thread. I hope to make this what Stangnet's members have done, with the senior members leading the way on this thread. You were once a newbie too, so post something that would have helped you out when you were looking at a different modification. This can be successful with your help. Take a few minutes and let us know about the direction you put your Marauder in, and how it is working out for you.

Tinted windows: That came with the car from the dealer. Got to make them darker though.

Bob White's Black Inserts: So people can see what smoked them.

GT coil covers: Adds a little touch o' bling, think I got another 2 hp out of them.

Pioneer Speaks: Because I couldn't stand the whopping 25w stock speakers but since they are heavier I lost the 2 hp.

I fixed that with

Trilogy #69: Now thats a fun one.

JLT CAI: Lets the girl breathe and growl like a true panther. Which brings me to

Flowmaster Delta 50's: Thanks to Tom (Marauder TJA) she rumbles just fine.

Silverstars: Just wanted to see the big difference....there is none that I can see.

That pretty much sums it up.....:D

Supercharger: Trilogy #58. Roots-type S/C with incredible get-up-and-go muscle-car performance. Everything I expected, and more. Gas mileage is similar to stock under normal driving conditions, but who can name a Trilogy S/C owner that drives normally... (not me). Bottom line: Get one. It's the only mod you really need to wake up that Marauder.

K&N Air-filter kit: Great package and performs wonders. Added RWHP straight away after install.

Drilled/Slotted Rotors: I got mine from a company called RotorPros on an eBay auction. The jury is still out on these performance-wise, (still testing entire brake system) but the "bling" is substancial. Lots of compliments. See pics.

Paint your calipers! This is an easy mod, and cheap. Sand and paint your calipers with matching car color for that "custom" brake look. See pics.

Innovative Interceptor "delete tips": These are very similar to the standard stock stainless steel exhaust tips except that the factory equipped "baffle" is removed to give your Marauder a deeper/louder rumble. Analogy: Similar to turning up your Marauder exhaust volume one notch, (maybe two). See pics.

Neon underbody security lighting kit: I call this the "security" lighting kit since this is what the kit was designed for. I simply replaced the standard white "puddle" lights with StreetGlow blue neons, (gold series) for a different effect. Contact Shakes_26 for details on the kit. See pics....

SS inserts and S/C emblems: The SS inserts for the rear bumber are top notch! They really stand out and look great! I think the S/Ced emblems are a good addition to a S/Ced Marauder and makes 300C owners think twice before bothering me. See pics.

That's it for now but have 2 more mods to be completed within next couple weeks. I'll update...

Thats about all that I have done so far. The fantasy list is much longer :D

Silverstar headlights: I can see better!
18" Magnaflows: Much better sound.
Modified CAI and mount: Let the baby suck some more air!
SCT chip: Improved shift points, H/P+TRQ.
Self inflected J-Moded tranny: WOW, this thing can hit it all day long!
Custom 1/2" phenolic manifold spacer: Great TRQ from 3000-4500 RPM and better heat control into upper manifold.
Custom 1" phenolic throttle body spacer: Better throttle response and slightly better MPG. Also cooler air going through the throttle body>more power.
Custom heat sheild: for the air filter.
Limo upper control arms: No mystery there.
Custom "I" beam lower control arms: Again no mystery.
Under drive pullies: Faster unsprung rev accross power band.
Motorcraft 22C plugs: Supposed to help from spark knock.
Back lit upper console control: I can see you buttons! No more fumbleing around in the dark.
Back lit cup holders: To go with the upper console

Let me see if i can remember;

Reinheart stage one chip- changed the shift points and took away the speed limiter

Denso plugs- changed for the addition of the chip

180 stat- also changed for the chip

Dyno tech driveshaft- now i can go over 120 safely, i did notice a difference! It was worth it for me.

4.10 gears FMC- really noticible difference off the line

black reflective inserts- funny to see people haul a$$ up behind me at night, then see the letters (cant figure it out) then pull back because they just dont get it. I like the way they look at night.

Silverstar headlight and turn signal blubs- I have bad enough eyes, and now i can see at night.

XM roady radio- nice for those long trips, use it on all my toys.

spoiler- love the way it looks

tinted windows- it came that way from the dealer, wish they were darker

chromed wheels- they look great! Too bad it happened from a dealer mistake.

Snorkel delete- took off that plastic thing on the intake, i like the sound now.

Added some buillet pieces, oil cap, door lock pins.- they are nice i guess.

Added Marauder buillet door sills- they are really cool and i get alot of complements.

trunk organizer- love it because i can hide all my junk i feel i have to carry around.

oil pressure gauge- got rid of the stock one and installed a working one! Love it!

Thats it for now, i want to take a sec. and thank Jim and the vegas crew for helping me! I have a torque converter, and reinheart stage 3 trans. kit waiting for me to install in the garage.

MY MODS IN ORDER OF INSTALLATION,

1. 15% TINT ALL AROUND, Its a Trend with all my cars, Tint is always a great look on a black car
2. STEEDA UNDERDRIVE PULLEYS, Noticable Difference off the line and midrange, Car pulled harder after this mod
3. PHP COLD AIR INDUCTION, Very Noticable difference in Sound and Acceleration. Also Allowed Car to break Traction from a stand still without power braking
4. SUPER CHIPS MICRO TUNER 1725, This Addition made The car feel more refined and added more punch off the line and from 60mph-up. It also Changed the sound of the engine and Made the shifts more positive at WOT
*THIS ITEM SOLD AND NEVER USED AGAIN
5. DENSO IRIDIUM PLUGS, Smoothed out the idle and gave better throttle response.
6.180 TEMP THERMOSTAT, Recommended after installing the Micro Tuner. It didnt show any cooler on the temp gauge but I dont think such a little drop in Temp would show
7. PHP INTAKE SPACER, The Verdict is still out on this mod, I Dont know it if Hurt or helped me.
*TURNED OUT TO GIVE A FEW EXTRA HP ON THE DYNO
8. RED PAINTED CALIPERS, Nice Look, It really stands out when looking at the car
9. 4.10 GEARS, Impressive response and Power off the line with the gears installed
10. S55 TAIL LIGHT TREATMENT, I did it myself and I impressed myself with the results
11. SCT Tune By DR, This Mod made all the difference! It made all the Bolt-On's Work Together. I have taken out the MicroTuner and will use it as a Code Reader only now.
*NO FLAMES BUT DIDNT HAVE HAPPY LONG TERM RESULTS,SINCE MOVED ON
12. SHIFT KIT, This Made the transmission Kick down harder and faster plus the harder shifts at WOT make the car seem faster
13. Cherry bomb Vortex Mufflers, Very Nice Sound Mod. Has a Classic muscle car burble to it and no annoying Drone on the Highway
14. Res-Delete tips, Made the mufflers come alive with sound.
15. SCT Dyno Tuning by Powersurge Performance, This was the mod that made the biggest improvment. It made all my other mods come together.
16. PI 3000 Stall Torque Convertor, Amazing difference in take off, I cant believe that a TC would make such a difference.
17. Accufab 60MM Throttlebody, It didnt show much on the dyno but the pedal feel and the better response makes it worth it.
18. Metco Carbon Fiber intake tube, Just for looks basically
19. Rear Spoiler, Love the look and was a great deal
20. Cross-Drilled and slotted rotors, I think they are mostly for looks, I didnt see much of a improvment.

Traction- Widened rear OEM wheels and 295/45/18 Nitto NT 555 street radials. 255/45/18 Nitto NT 555 street radials on the front.

Review: 450 rwhp / 425 rwtq feels simply amazing. The torque converter and gears give the car awesome off-the-line response and the ProCharger centrifugal blower simply kicks you in the pants from there on. This combination delivers along the entire rpm range. The Predator tuner is a great tool to view, log, and archive operational data.

The best 1/4 mile timeslip so far of 12.226 seconds at 111.73 mph with a 1.821 sec 60 footer was achieved at the Kansas City International Raceway on Nitto 555R 305/45/18 drag radials and 4.10 gears. The temperature was in the high-40's.

Link to timeslip (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/1/5/9/4/hwycruiserslip.JPG)

No timeslips with the 4.30 gears yet. On the highway she is getting around 17-20 mpg depending on the prevailing speed.

- 1-coil cut front coils, front end alignment to carfixer's specs

Review: Hole shots and boogie through the twisties are exceptional.

Braking system modifications
- TCE Wilwood Front Street Sport brake kit w/ BP10 pads

Cosmetic and/or "Bling":

none. I think the Marauder looks great the way it came from the factory.

Go FAST stuff:

This is what came first to last in this order for my car to the best of my memmory....

#1.Ford 4.10 gears ( www.summitracing.com (http://www.summitracing.com/) ) ..... No change(needed the chip too)

#2. chip (burned for the 4.10 gears)...combined these two yielded a .50 second ET reduction, but not a whole lot in the way of felt performance on the street.(not enough for me).

#3. Ford 4.56 gears (from www.summitracing.com (http://www.summitracing.com/) ) & stallion torque converter w/3,000 RPM stall speed from www.converter.com (http://www.converter.com/) (Precision Industries). This made a somehwat noticeable change on the street and for the first time my car would actually spin the tires all the way into the very beginning of second gear from merely a dead punch. The Stallion torque converter was actually installed right before the gears and that alone reduced my ET's by .70 seconds which was even better than the .50 second ET reduction that precision Industries garantees with their product.

#4.Kooks headers & complete 2.5" diameter bolt-on exhaust w/18" magnaflow mufflers. great set-up!! made this car sound real cool. Also added some midrange and top end performance that could be felt slightly on the street (was about another .55 second ET reduction) w/out sacrificing any noticeable low-end power. Still wasn't enough though.

#5. The big Enchilada!!!....The Trilogy supercharger kit(w/the standard 9.5 PSI pulley). (why didn't I just do this first? I wish that I did!). This was the last modification that I performed to my Marauder (along with the Nitto drag radials and widened rear wheels which can be considered "bling" I guess since these P305 monsters look so much better on the back than the stock tires did, although I did this for the needed traction).I did this 13 months ago to this day and I'm satisfied now. The supercharger transformed the car and is the only modification that I did which I can actually feel just from driving it on the street that not only did the engine get a greater HP and Torque increase than it did from all of those other mods combined, but it also actually made the RPM band of power wider than it previously was. No other modification that I did to this car nor to my last car (which included ported cylinder heads, and bigger camshaft on that other car which was a 350 engine vette)has done that.

It's all in my signature.

Technically, since the bumper covers are part of the car, and one of them is in another state (I won't say which), I won't say what is being done since that's top secret but I will say it's bling-bling that will have VegasMarauder green with envy.

You guys will be the first to know (that don't have security clearance) as soon as it's done.

My Signature spells it out although the only thing thats not mentioned is the External AM/FM Antenna that is mounted on the Fender. Not what many people here want to do but I like the results. Since many members have (Give or Take) similar mods , theres no need to add results. ;) :cool4:

Will be doing another Dyno Tune with the addition of the Spacer and Air Charger.

Okay, well my mods are on my sig, but Ill give opinions as well.....

Performance

1725 SCT Max micro tuner: First mod, after installing, was able to spin tires from a dead start. Improved everything. My only beef is that I cant adjust A/F with it. For Sale for 150$

Magnaflow 14" mufflers: replaced just the factory mufflers for added sound and minimal performance. sounds good, probably 5-10 hp gain.

Steeda Underdrive pullies: I cat really say I notice a difference. My voltage runs really low now. Need to adjust my rpms when I get a new chip/tuner.

K&N CAI: Love this mod. Added instant reults. Better acceleration, sound and overall performance. Added 15hp to my wheels.

FRPP 4.10 gears with TA performance girdle: Another great mod. Instant results. Better off the line. More perkier, and takes away just about all lag. (PI converter would do the rest)

KDW2 tires: Better handling, more aggresive looking, and an overall better ride.

Eibach pro-kit: Better look, awesome handling, tighter, more sport tuned feel. A little choppy, but arent all performance suspensions?????

Carfixers alignment specs: Awesome!!!! car handles beter, and no issues after over 7K miles. no drifting and no tire wear, a must for our cars.

Waiting to be installed:

Full Kooks exhaust system with non delete tips: cant wait cant wait cant wait!!!!!!!

Diablo flip switch: Will correct my 14.6 AF ratio average. will add an additional 15-40 hp that my car is robbing right now. note: dont get the 1725 tuner if you plan on alot of mods...you cant adjust the A/F or any pther major perameters with it.

Up and coming:

PI stallion converter
New plugs, wires, and ignition system.
Addco front and rear sway
Watts link
Metco front and rear control arms
Mezier electric water pump
PHP intake spacer
Deep trans kit
rear engine cooling
NOS
Procharger kit from F.I.T.

Sound and toys

Pioneer Avic N1 navigation, cd, dvd, multi media system: would never have another car without one. I am ever lost and can drive with ease. Plus its pimp....

Bumper mounted rear view camera: Right above the "A" in the Marauder lettering. great for backing up and for making sure the cops cant sneak up on you while roasting a bowl!

2 7" built in headrest LCD monitors: adds pimpness and makes road trips a breeze!!!

DLS component speakers front and back: Awesone clarity and richness. Sounds like a live band in your car. It better at 500$ a pair!

MA Audio replacement 6" subwoofer: Adds more bass depth.

Infinity 800 watt amp: gotta power it all!

Whelen 6 unit strobe light kit: The real deal!!!! Real cop strobe lights in the front corners, rear tail light, and reverse lights. 90watts per strobe. Very authentic!!!

Headlight wig-wag flasher: A lovely addition to the strobes!

Valentine1 radar/laser detector: Dont leave home without it!!! Hands down the best on the market. Makes others seem like poo poo.

Weathertech wind deflectors: Very nice mod and looks great too!

Limo tint all around: Just pay cash and they do what you want!!! Plus I never get bothered because I look like a cop anyways! Tint was the FIRST mod I did. A must have.

I didn't know we had another CT resident here other than a few guys that live on the other side of the state about an hour away. You're about 10 miles away from my home town (Derby). I see that you've been a board member here for a year, but since I've never noticed before, let me say welcome aboard! I guess you can see my Marauder modifications below in my signature. And like Barry ( aka "Cruztaker") I only list the ones that make the car go faster. ;)

Thanks Billy! Yeah, I've been posting here for a while now, surprised you never noticed me. BTW, we've been posting in our new New England Marauders thread; apparently there are 2 other Marauders in Naugatuck that I didn't even know about when I bought mine, and my friend Tim's dad has a Marauder up in Prospect. Oh, and feel free to add "Constitution State Marauders" to your sig!

Also representing the 2v crowd;

Exterior
- Handling & Performance Package Wheels, 93-96 version with machined finish outer lip and Un-fenced lug section -16x7, Aluminum BBS Lacy Spoke style, 235/55/16 Tires, really changed the look of the car
-1" 5x4.5" Wheel adapters on rear axle. - Matching my aero's rear track width to the 98-02s for a little more fender fill-out.
-1993 Ford Thunderbird 5.0: V8 fender emblems, Similar in style to the "Police Interceptor" Emblem (Picture) (http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/media/256951)
-Black Pin-Striping - Breaks up the paint
-Sunroof - Nice being able to look up and out
-50% Charcoal Tint - I like it, sportier looking. No real reason for getting it.
-<s>Mercury Marauder: Dual Exhaust Tips (3.5" x 22"), Polished Stainless, unresonated</s> Replaced for factory-style tailpipes

Interior
- Trunk organizer (Picture) (http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/media/261928) - Needed to organize the quick detailing stuff

- Crown Victoria Police Interceptor: 98-02 Instrument Cluster, Including 140mph Speedo - Old speedo broke, figured I'd upgrade
- Custom gauge overlays. Black with white numerals, 98+ Green Backlighting, PRND21 replaced with red illuminated "LSE V8" (Picture) (http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/media/322568) - needed to get rid of the PRND21 now that the solumn shifter was gone
- <s>Aluminum cluster surround</s> Since replaced in favor of factory black piece
- VDO Vision Series 2 1/16th" tachometer, mounted in Autometer Marauder single a-pillar pod ( Pictures) (http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/7603/51135) - Nice to monitor RPMs at quick glance
- 98+ Dashboard clock - to replace -97 "Cool Blue" glowing factory clock; Just matching my 98+ dash illumination further
- Lincoln Continental Floor console & Shifter: Recessed mounted ScanGauge, Ashtray cover trimmed to fit. Powertrain/Drivetrain/Engine Bay

- Crown Victoria Police Interceptor: Factory Style Dual Exhaust system - Nice little gain

- In-Line PCV system Oil/Air Seperator: Picture (http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/media/406176) - I suppose it does something, had one laying around so I put it on.

- SCT xCal2 - No more confused trans, much more power, kept the shifts soft

- Edelbrock Performer IAS rear shocks

Weatherflectors window deflector front windows. Easy install.

Tinted windows 35%. Looks good and keeps the car cooler in summer

Air intake snorkel delete. More air intake sound, I like it.

Trunk organizer. Nice a place to put stuff and makes the trunk easier to use when loading and unloading other stuff, also easier to take stuff out when you go drag racing, just take out the organizer.

SCT9100 with Lidio's tune. Shifts are nice and firm at WOT, and 15 more horse power !!

410 Gears. With the tune and gears, the way the car should have been made.

Reinhart exhaust .Cobra exhaust manifolds to 2 1/2 inch exhaust pipe through 2 high flow cats to stock mufflers, the sound is just right for me. This mod, Lidio's tune and 410 gears gave me a 14.275 in the quarter mile with a not so good 60 foot time of 2.292. My thinking is the exhaust and tune are doing there job.

Blizzak Blizzards snow tires on Mille Miglia Spider 16 inch Wheels. Some decent looking wheels for the snow tires.
I bought the tires and wheels from TireRack a couple of years ago to match up with traction control. IMHO if your going to drive this car in snow you need snow tires.
Front 225/60r16
Rear 235/65r16

AutoMeter real oil pressure gauge. Search the FAQ for install info.

Badgeless Grille. Just for looks.

Auto Meter Ultra-Lite Water Temperature Gauge 100-250 Degrees. Mounted in the factory gauge pod where the cigarette lighter was (moved the lighter to the side of the pod) wired to a three position (on-on-on) switch mounted in the dash above the emergence brake. One position of the switch reads water temp through the gauge, another position oil temp, and another trans fluid temp.
I got this idea from doing a search at SVTPerformance Forum.

Zaino Zaino Zaino, Sometimes I get Zaino crazy especially before winter comes, ask my neighbors they must think I am nuts all the washing and polishing.

Mobil 1 5-20 motor oil.

Redline gear oil 75w90.

Remote start.

:) Baby seat in the back for my Grandson born on Christmas day, (first baby in multi town, city area), had his picture front page of the local paper Christmas Day, how sweet is that!!

Door guards and trunk organizer from Ray the Dealer
Marauder trunk bib from Dennis
MM.net gas tank bib - DR
Godshead locking valve caps from Wes
Steeda oil/brake/PS/Radiator billet covers

Underbody lighting kit from Shakes (not installed yet. Gotta get this done.:depress: )

Would have done the Cobra exhaust package from Dennis in a heartbeat if I could get away with it out here in the PRK. Likewise the Vortech or Trilogy or other S/C, but a friend tells me there is a 50-state legal S/C that I could get. (?) Maybe someday when I get an extra $6K...

Need to get new tires in the next few weeks, so will be searching here for the best ones to get. Once my brakes need reworked I plan on getting an upgraded set with drilled or slotted rotors from DR or CM, and painting the calipers.

Thanks to all you guys who helped me with all this stuff and through countless questions since I drove my '03 MM home in July of '04 (as it had been sitting on the idiot dealers lot for 21 months marked "Grand Marquis!") Great site here.

Norm

Thank you very much for the time you spent to give us all the details on your car.

I and others can now see what else we need to add to our cars.

I could swear my post was edited in this thread by someone other then me. I have never used the word "Flame" in a post nor "happy long term" Thats not my wording.
Its also odd that I posted up about my new dyno tune and still left this in the mod list.

Cut coils- took a full coil out and love the look. The ride is nice and only slightly jouncy on bumps. It dropped 1.25" in front.

HID headlights and foglamps - This by far the only way to drive at night. The road is as white as paper and I can see a half mile.

Tinted taillights- Strictly cosmetic. Looks evil and sinister. Enough light enters from the top of the lense to throw off any notions of ever being done at all.

Heart-stopping sound system- This was a given, I was a custom installer for 17 years. I chose the best, JL Audio speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers. Eclipse DVD/NAV iPod adaptor and CD changer and back-up camera all with a jaw-dropping installation highlighted with a Varad milti-color LED lighting kit.

K&N Cold air intake- got it on eBay and love the sound and benefits of a free-breather.

Xcal2 with Lidio tune- I should have bought the car with this in my hand. This is by far the best way to wake up the yawning transmission.

Ford Racing 4.10 gears- The Marauder should have had these the moment it was born.

Meg's resonator delete tips- Hand-me downs in flawless condition from Tom Archambault - makes a defining sound when you get into the throttle.

Flowmaster Super 40's- Great deep sound, very little drone and exceptional sound at WOT. My favorite sound in the world is created by these.

Innovative Interceptors MACH1 spoiler- Looks great and gives a low-to-the-ground stance. Backing into a parking spot is now a neccessity.

Steeda Underdrive crank pulley- Love it. It slows down the accessories and inproves throttle response. Easy to install and does have a noticable benefit.

Stock PTK Turbo Kit + 60 lb Injectors The most powerful and efficient stock power adder available (well, used to be available). Ultimate sleeper. Comes on like a 200+ shot of nitrous. Otherwise drives and sounds like stock.
Tune by Scott Beer Necessary for survival see first mod.
Ultra Flow mufflers - Great Flow and Sound, not too loud
PI 3500 triple Disc OK, but I still can't find anything to match up with the turbo correctly. PI/Gears/Tune are the best NA mods.
Twin Focus Fuel pumps Supports the Turbo
Upgraded FPDM Supports the Pumps :)
COP's - Much smoother firing
MMX Drive Shaft Necessary for survival see first mod.
Built Transmission Necessary for survival see first mod.
31 spline axles Necessary for survival see first mod.
Auburn differential Necessary for survival see first mod.
FMS 3:73's Gives a little more umphh and puts me in a sweet band for the turbo and still have great cruising RPM's
QA Rear Shocks No noticeable difference, but I needed new shocks

Sway Bar - keeps her flat on corners
Real Oil gauge Necessary for survival see first mod.
Real Voltage gauge Matches Oil Guage.
Fuel Pressure Gauge Necessary for survival see first mod.
A/F gauge Necessary for survival see first mod.
E-Boost 2 Boost controller Change boost with a push of a button. How cool is that!!
Oh and it measures vacuum digitally when not in boost, so I can be eco-friendly with my gas mileage. :beatnik:

Electric Water Pump Constant flow even at high rpms
Intake Spacer -No Noticeable difference
Component Speakers - Sounds much better
Gods Head Emblems F/R/SW Looks cool. Super high quality
Mustang Spoiler w/rear brake light- Looks different and the third brake light is cool.

**Everything is self installed except gears/diff and spoiler
