AutoMeter has a whole section on their website with instructions for hooking up all their instruments. I don't want to second-guess them...but usually an A/F meter connects to power, ground, and one of the HEGO sensors...

Autometers instructions are useless and refer you to the vehicle wiring diagram. This is why I asked everyone here specifically , I have the power and ground taken care of just need to know where to find the signal wire. any help?

The wire you want is the black one on the O2 Sensor. Either side or both with a dpdt switch so you can go between sides.

The wire you want is the black one on the O2 Sensor.Just be sure to tap into the wire on the vehicle's wiring harness side of the connector, not on the sensor side...some sensors use shielded cable.

LV: try this link (http://hp.autometer.com/instruction_download/instructions/837j.pdf) from AutoMeter's site...see if it helps.

Thanks for that link, but I still have these questions. Is this wire going to be part of a harness or just floating by itself? Is it right next to the cpu or under the dash? What type of connection should i make?

Looking at the diagrams, it appears as though the wire on the 4th position of any of the 4 sensors shown, is the signal wire. (red/lt grn, gry/lt blu, vio/lt grn, and red/blk)

I had one of these meters in my last car. It was a pretty useless - yet fun to watch - gage to have. Especially on a computerized F/I car.

Hell, wouldn't an exhaust temp gage (is there such a thing?) offer more useful info?

Is this wire going to be part of a harness or just floating by itself? Is it right next to the cpu or under the dash?It is part of the under-hood wiring harness. If you find the two front O2 sensors and follow the wires, they should each go to a connector fairly close by...
What type of connection should i make?I'd use a Scotchlok™ 951 Female T-Tap Quick Slide Connector...
