The Super Marauder from the SEMA show is now in Lansdale. (But you didn't hear it from me :censor: )

It isn't ready for sale or display though. Things like power doorlocks and power windows were never hooked up.

You can keep an eye on Old Forge Lincoln Mercury. Some Mustang site had pics of it being delivered there and I chatted with an insider of mine there about it.

I remember reading that this car was auctioned a few months back...

It can never be registered, since it was created as a concept car.
It is also one of the "unfinished" Marauders...

I remember is was unfinished, not a working convertable, no power doors, no working windows, you can see the front/rear door panels on the inside, etc. etc. etc.

It was a car for people to oogle over from a distance and get their feedback. All known pictures of this car in magazines and in the car shows were all from a distance. It was a idea that never got anywhere :(
Its a conversation piece for sure though...

That is one of the pictures I saw on a Mustang site. Yes it isn't finished yet. It's not even on display yet. When I see it out I'll let you all know.

They really screwed up the moon-roof!

I wonder if they will make a two door conversion kit from the concept.
Hmmmm... two door Marauder

It also probably is the only black Marauder that won't need a repaint because of defects. :bigcry: :depress: :shake:

......Ya know a more door, I mean a 4 door convertible Marauder would be just as awesome :coolman: , maybe more awesome then a 2 door version  . Anyone seen a rollover 4sale lately?

I think without the B pillar the 4 doors would be pretty loose without the integrity of the roof. Doors may close a bit crooked over time :(

I even found this old video that was interesting to look at. I noticed that the gauges looked different. I assume they put the boost gauge down there.

Converts also require a different, stronger frame. A stock frame would produce too much body flex and cracking.

Back in the olden days, you used'ta be able to buy 4-door pillarless hardtops. In the early '70s, I owned one
of these, a '69 LTD. It had a short, but fairly substantial, pillar between the doors that ended about beltline
level, and the windows were frameless, leaving the window area without any visual obstructions. Door sag
was never a problem on those back doors. I still prefer a 2-door convertible, though.

*AARP has started sending me their junk, so I guess it's now official...

I'd like to save that video clip. Can you provide an address that I can go to to "save target as"? The link you provided was great, but only plays with no option to save. I'd like to show this to some people.

I noticed that the gauges looked different. I assume they put the boost gauge down there.Yah...the left one is a vacuum/boost gauge and the right one is a fuel pressure gauge...heh...it's reading 90 PSI...wtf?!

1956 was the big first year for 4 dr hardtops. Mercury's 4 dr hardtop was one of the better looking ones.

In 62, I bought a 57 Chevy BelAir 4 dr hardtop, black white roof, 283/220 hp, 4:11 rear, three speed Hurst (conversion from PowerGlide). Beat it to death at Englishtown raceway every Sunday.

As much as I liked that car (sold a beautiful 57 Olds 98 convertible to buy it), the 2 dr hardtop was so much better looking and "cooler".
