Has BFGoodrich stop making our rear tires? :depress:

I doubt it.

But if Goodrich got wind of our complaints :blah:,they would probably consider it.

Check the "WR" rated tires. 245/55WR18's The WR's are speed rated higher than the ZR's. :burnout:

I couldn't find any rear tires (in production) for the Marauder from any major tire company. I think I better run out and buy one new rear tire to match the one in the trunk! :burnout:
I did write BFGoodrich to see if they did stop product of tires the fit the rear end of the Marauder.

Check through the Tire Rack site on the MM.Net homepage. They list $128 fronts and $131 rears and both are shown as "in stock". :D

Damn! I never look at that, thanks! How would the ride be with 3 front tires and one rear? :shake:  :bop: :corner: :burnout:

Response from BFGoodrich

Yes, we do manufacture the G-Force KDWS in the size 245/55ZR18 109W,
part number 40913. The KDWS is a performance tire for drivers who need true
all-season capability, including snow, plus the smooth ride and the
long wear that major automakers demand.

They why is it when you search on BFGoodrich web site for the rear tires it tells you we don't have any? :burnout:

I've recently been shopping around to find replacements for the rear tires and everywhere I go they say its an "odd" size and no other company makes tires for our vehicle. I have seen other Marauders with the BF goodrich KDW-2's on the rear. Does anyone know if the sixe of those tires are bigger than the stock ones and if they would fit if they were a little wider?

The size of the KDW-2 is a little bigger than stock 255/55 as opposed to 245/55, they are a bit wider and about a half an inch taller than the stock tires. I have them on my rears and have not had a single fitment issue nor problem with size difference.

Ordered the KDW-2's yesterday from Tire Rack and put them on today. They look bad ass and make it look more aggressive than it already is. Thanks Dark Knight for the info. Awesome tires and awesome transaction with Tirerack.com.

Does anyone know if BFG is going to make the KDW2.s in 245/55? They already make the 235/50 in them.

I have a set of KDW-2's on my MM. They currently have 15k miles on them and looks like I will get about 25k out of them. IMHO they are the very best tire for the money. They hook up nicely and the ride is nice.

235/50/18's front and 255/55/18's rear. The rears are less than 1/2" taller than stock 245's.

Great tires and readily available thru Discount Tires locally, price is about the same as Tirerack, when you add for the freight, mounting and balancing.

Just wondering ,being these are slightly taller tires, does it throw off the Traction Control ? Need new rears on my 2004 MM bad ! Just called BF Goodrich and they say next month for the 245/55ZR18, but do i believe em ?

Forget about the BFG's... they don't care about us.

There are better tires out there even if you have to go a size bigger.

No, traction control "looks" for a minimum percentage difference between the front & rear tires, I thinks it 3%.

Check out this post (if you used the search function you'd have found it).

There was also a spreadsheet with tire info... can't find it right now.

The tire you are referring to is not the "OEM" tire for the Marauder, it is the BFGoodrich Radial T/A.

Tire Rack ordered 25 units of the g-Force KDWS, which are all accounted for (sold), and they have more on backorder -- I spoke with them today after BFGoodrich called me to let me know they were available for purchase now (I was quite shocked to get the call from BFG).

Not that im Going the OEM route every again.
But my Brother is a Wholesale tire salesman in the 4 corner states area and spoke with his ordering manager with BFG, and he stated: The 245/55/18 KDWS will/ should be available at tire retailers in mid to late June, with very few before that date, we restarted production in late Febuary(I find this to be:bs:)To have plenty of stock to fill the void from an 8 month hold in production.

As I stated, they are available now, but unfortunately, most are accounted for. My BFG representative told me to request it as an "Emergency Release" from the distributor.

Most lower-volume dealers won't be able to get them until June -- I called both Sam's and BJ's and they told me June. Yet, TireRack has already sold out of their first 25 units (due on May 19th), so as I previously stated, they are currently available and TireRack will be getting their next shipment of 100 units (I believe that amount is correct) during the last week of this month.

Yeah, FWIW, just tell BFG to take a hike and go with a decent aftermarket replacement for the rears.

I have 4 OEM BFG rears coming next week, scheduled for Wednesday's FedEx delivery...

Yet for some reason, regardless of my previous posts (above), certain people insist they won't be available until June, LOL, this is why I am bangin' my head!

Uhhhhh, the way BFG has dealt with the backorder issue on their tires in the past, I wouldn't hold your breath.

(As in, "the checks in the mail"...)

Hurts to say this Rich with tires on the way but BFG sucks, their tires suck out loud and I wouldn't buy them if they were the only choice. If they do not arrive you can do a lot better. Check out the tire matrix. Dennis

I get to go with Nitto's since I widened my rear wheels :-)

295/45/18s in rear, 245/45/18s fronts

Only bummer is they are pricey... $196 ea front and $216 rear :-(

Replacement must be soon for sure. Anybody know a discount dealer?

Thanks

Jon, Check out www.discounttiredirect.com (http://www.discounttiredirect.com) 245/45/18 -$166 and 295/45/28- $197. Great tires. Your local Tire Kingdom store may be a couple dollars cheaper. Dennis

Try. www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) I have picked up both front 50's and rear 55's at a great price. Fronts are always in stock, but the rear 55's are a bit harder to find.

they (BFG) e-mailed me a month ago to tell me they would be widely available again in June. But I am open to other options. are there any front tires that are less prone to inner wear? (yes I have the modified alignment specs) I was looking at some tires online that had the near solid band on the inner edge of the tire. would this kind of tread work on our cars? (those kinds of tires are "foreign" to me...)
