I've got 40K on mine, but the only thing that causes vibration of the inside rear view mirror is the subwoofer when the bass is pounding.

Do you feel any vibration from the steering wheel? I've seen a lot of people on here complain about improper alignments that transmit vibrations.

Had a set of BFG KDW's on my SVT Contour that got noisier as they wore down. Don't remember whether any vibration or not until one bubbled on the inside with 38,000 miles.

After you lube and ajust the hood stops and lock see if that helps, if not, turn up the tunes.

I took it to the dealer and they put the ears on her, they did replace my right rear shock cuz they said it was bad and making noise. Of course I got her back and the first warm day she is a squeaking, the hotter the day the louder she speaks! It’s more then just one sounding squeak, it’s like 3 or 4 different sounds. :mad2:

get a intake and aftermarket exhaust and it will drown out the vibrations :)

I heard some of the squeaks attributed to the front end shocks might actually be the hood making noise. I guess the hood moves up and down a slight bit making tiny squeaks. Someone that I know that has an MM, who's not a member of this board said that was the problem on his. The dealer fixed the problem without a hassle. He has an 03 with over 35k.

Mat, how can you allow a friend with an MM to not be a member? I though you were Chief of Recruiting?

Shame... :P

I have read abou the hood stops causing squesks on CVPIs. My 02 CVPI w/ 65+K has a whole family of mice living somewhere under the front bumper. One of these days I'll find em!

I agree with the hood stops. I took mine in for an oil change and they stated that it was a problem with MM, GM and CV. It even squeaked when I closed the doors. It did not squeak when the hood was popped. It does not squeak when it is warm.

Mine's got the squeaks too...just drove home from TX (to St. Louis); squeaked over every bump. My rearview shakes too, but I know the answer for this one: Check the mounting clips, one or more of them could be broken.
Found out about this because mine started vibing badly after the second windshield replacement; a trip to the dealer revealed that during the w/s install, the ham-fisted goombah doing the job had simply jammed the rearview back on the glass mount and had broken one of the clips on the mirror mounting arm...the dealer shimmed it up a bit (at least I think he did). It's better, but it's going to need replacement...Lemme know what the dealer says about your front suspension. I'm interested...

I have the same mileage as you,I don't have any squeaks but I did notice the rearview mirror vibrating .It started a month ago or so.

Thanks Marauder307, for the tip on fixing it.

RF - trust me I tried. Ive been trying for a year, still haven't seen him on here. Sent videos, links, pics, still no joining.

Thought he might be able to make Barrys in may, but he's a pilot, and his tour falls right in the middle of the meet...so no joy there.

Sorry RF.

Damn! I didn't notice until after reading your post, but the front end of my Marauder squeaks also.

The radio is usually on so loud I probably never noticed.

I have no problems with the mirrors... other than the vibrations caused by the sub.

Same deal here, it's annoying. Only seems to do it at really low speeds. Does it when I close the front doors, too.

We have an '04 with less than 6000 mi. and the front suspension bushings are squeeking on certain days. They seem to do it more in cool weather than warm. The dealer said they would have to drive it when squeeking in order to identify where it's comming from. They said it would probably require replacing control arms.

As mentioned, check your Marauder hood stops. I went to my Mercury dealer believing my bushings were bad then after no luck there a Ford service tech jammed cloth under my hood.........problem solved. Occasionally you`ll need re-adjust these "stoppers" , due to vibration.

Check to make sure all the suspension fasteners are torqued to spec. Some vehicles can leave the plants with fasteners which are not tight enough. Dealers usually go through all the suspension fasteners as the first step in fixing a squeek.

[QUOTE=marauder307]Mine's got the squeaks too...just drove home from TX (to St. Louis); squeaked over every bump. [QUOTE]

OK...got an update on this. Took the car in Thursday for the squeaks; turns out that when I had the Addco front swaybar installed, the folks who did the job down in TX didn't lube the bushings. Consequently, squeaks. South County Sinclair L-M removed the swaybar, lubed everything as it needed to be, reinstalled, and voila! No more squeaks...and incidentally, the transient vibration that I'd had since new also seemed to go away as well. They also checked/readjusted/lubed the hood stops/hinges. Squeak-free!

Hope this points a few folks in the right direction! :coolman:

pay attention to what the people in this thread have told you about those hood stops, because when they're adjusted incorrectly (as mine were) your hood is going to squeek over every little bump, especially when you're going slow.

With your hood latched and closed, push down on it hard to see if you can get it to move at all. if you can still move it up and down after it's fully closed, then those hood stops aren't adjusted right, and that's liukely the cause of your squeaks. I had to adjust mine along with also adjusting the bolts for the hood latch itself (they're in slotted holes). Then once I got it correct, I backed off both the left and right hood stop four turns, applied blue LOC-tite to the threads, and tunred them back in four turns. They haven't come loose since then, nor has the hood squeaked anymore.
