I know this may sound stupid for someone who lives in Florida, but I'd like to know, what do guys in the "Rust Belt" use for wheels in the winter?

Do CV or GM 16 inch wheels fit the MM bolt pattern and calipers? If so, do you use the largest 16 inch tires you can get on those 16 inch wheels?

I know I've seen posts where 18 inch MM wheels are put on CV's or GM's but was wondering what happens when you go the other way in size.

Hey Bob....

If you are looking for some reading to kill ALOT of time....use the search function on SNOW TIRES.

I personally just cannot add any more than the dozen or so threads I alone started on snow tires...

Hi Bob,

I bought snows on 16" wheels for last winter from the Tire Rack. They are the same wheels as on the police interceptors, and clear the calipers fine. They also will not work with a regular wheel cover, so I bought some used PI centercaps and special lug nuts from Hubcap Haven.

The tire sizes were set to match circumference of the original front and rears. If you want, I can dig them out and send you the sizes.

Thanks for the info. No need for them "yet", however next winter, I may have to make an "emergency" trip up into the snow belt and stay for a few months and just checking ahead of time.
