With all the talk of modifications on this website, I'm curious as to how many of you out there are bone stock. [Cosmetic mods such as tint do not count as mods in this thread.] I'm referring to owners who have done nothing to enhance performance above factory levels and are happy being stock.
Is this you? Are you out there lurking? Let your voice be heard!

Does installing a JLT CAI disqualify? Other than that and cosmetics, mines totally stock and still under 5000 miles. I've owned it for about 1 yr and it's my primary car.

You've seen my totally stock, zero modifications silver 04 at the Tower Shops meeting a number of times Tallboy. Only thing done has been oil changes and side-side tire rotations (did add a full size spare compliments of Marc "shakes" -MM wheel and Rob "ghost03" -BFG tire). Watching the performance improvments with all you guys S/C'ing though (you, Zo, Tim, carfixer, Joe with the Vortech setup etc)....I'm starting to weaken. I just noticed Rick (ricknmiami) has a Trilogy setup on order.

I'm currently bone stock. No performance mods yet. But come 5pm tonight when my Xcalibrator comes in, I will no longer be bone stock. I am not happy being stock. Never have been. :D

Aside from a K&N airfilter and a God's head steering wheel badge, stock.
Oh yeah, I've got a trailer hitch too.
I've got 4:10s, plugs, thermostat, and a chip that I will probably NEVER get to install.

Technically, at this very second, my car is bone stock. However, when Trilogy #79 shows up in a couple weeks and I go visit Carfixer, I will no longer be able to make this claim. :)
Mine is bone stock. I've got an all-around tint and SS inserts but no technical mods whatsoever.
With the exception of the Gods Head sticker I put in the middle of the steering wheel, 03 300B Black, Bone Stock. Didn't even drill the front bumper for the plate as required by law, haven't been stopped yet. Very Bone Stock, very happy with it. 26000 miles, still on the original front tires too, had to change out backs due to a flat.

I've added a Shiney Hiney, and "fixed" the front & rear hockey sticks, as well as the one on the stearing wheel. It's a silver '04. Best Et's a 15.36 @ 92.1mph :)

Still stock, pretty happy with it for now. Replacing all four tires as soon as they arrive from Tire Rack. Now that the wife has seen the spoilers and the trunk organizer, those might be purchased a ways down the road. Honestly, it'll be all I can manage to keep it in gas, oil changes, tires, etc. done properly. However, if I should come into a large sum of money suddenly, all bets are off. I'll be heading up to get me the whole works done to the car. I have been lusting after superchargers ever since I found mm.net and discovered that there are some speed shops specifically modifying Marauders. It'll happen someday.

04 silver with 24K miles. 2nd set of rear tires. Daily driver.
Air cleaner replaced with direct replacement K&N for cost savings, no real performance improvement just a cost savings on air filters as I live on a dirt road.
Satisfied with performance? Well, I really do like how she runs when its cold outside before that car fully warms up. wished it could run like that all the time.
Normally though, no real tire burner on the launch, but she's putting a hurting on the tires in scond gear. I also find her fun to stomp on from 65 MPH, on the e-way. Car handles and brakes very well for stock.
Overall car is good as it is. But with that said, I feel that it is an outstanding canidate for mods.
Been debating the supercharcer kits as well as settling for 410 gears and a tune. Leaning more toward the second (really wanna 'charger) as this is still getting quite a few miles put on daily and I also have other intrests and prioritys to balance. (In addition I would like to keep my drivers license.)

Is this you? Are you out there lurking? Let your voice be heard!:cool:My 2004 Marauder is Dark Toreador Red and is stock. That's how it is now, but I'm not happy with it being stock. My wish list includes: door sill trim plates, bodyside Marauder emblems, SS inserts, wheel locks, rear decklid spoiler, K&N conical filter/intake set-up, 4.10:1 rear gears, a rescan tuner, larger trans oil pan, and the grandpappy of all mods...the Trilogy supercharger installation! There are many other mods you can easily make to your Marauder. But these are my personal favorites. I would ultimately like My Marauder to be a fastest, stealiest sedan in my area. The 4.10 gears and Trilogy s/c would be an absolute killer on the traffic light derby circuit. I want this car to be the fastest car I've ever owned, or even dreamed of owning. Because the Marauder is such a great car, all of this is within our grasp...if we want do it. So, happy with my car, most definitely. But with a deep yearning for more power.

I'm still bone stock also, right down to the paper air filter.
I'm paying off my rental car bill from my car disaster, then I'm going to buy a beater pickup (so I never have to park my car at work or rent a car again... ever).
I'm pretty happy with the performance of the stock car. I'd love to have a supercharger on it someday, or maybe just 4.10s and a reflash.

I did put a K&N in mine. I don't expect much performance enhancement out of it.
I really want to keep this car stock... a tune, 4.10's and even a JLT are very tempting.
But with what I know now about how each part is engineered, and how the mods in my last car (except the stainless header) were the first parts to die and cause problems - I fear the impact of mods and the long term durability of the car.
I also worry about the seat of the pants/empty wallet effect. It's cool a lot of you post dyno runs to prove that their last $200-$300 netted at least a 5% gain at the wheels. All too often I've found that people will insist that their money had been well spent - when they are just fooling themselves. So far this group seems to be pretty cool about not doing that. But if one of you starts trying to tell me your mail-order oil makes your car travel back in time and disintegrates women's underwear - I'm going to have to throw rocks and garbage at you until you get a clue.
I'll always be a skeptic. Hope that doesn't get me in too much trouble here. http://mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I switched to Amsoil, that's the only mod, and it doesn't appear to have any mods from the previous owners. Oh, yes it does, someone added rain/wind deflectors to the windows. I like them, they will stay.

Bone Stock here. No performance or cosmetic mods. Purchased in March of 2003, now has 15K miles on it. It's a daily driver (I only live 6 mi. from my office) and many days take my '97 Ford Explorer.
Bone stock here too (except cosmetic). Daily commuter. DTR, 9,000 miles. Very happy with ride, handling, sound, and the way it looks. A little disappointed off the line and even more with the weak brakes - this would be my mod #1 over more power. Overall -- MM thumbs up.

With the exception of a K&N air filter, cosmetics and bike rack mine is bone stock. Had it since 01/03/05 and have'nt been for the first oil change yet and just under 3,000 miles.
The main thing i'm going after (soon as i get the scratch), and the first maintenance visit out of the way, is the tuner to change the tranny shift points.

Mine is still completely stock. I would really like to do some minor upgrades like a chip and gears, but I do so much highway driving with it that my already hefty fuel budget would suffer even more. 26K so far since September 2004. This thing was built to rule the highway! I have discovered that it does not have a speed limiter as some here have mentioned (on a private track, or course).

What is interesting about this tread is it brought out so many members that usually don’t post. It’s nice to see new faces. I joined this site to see what kind of information I could gather on the car and maybe meet some people who had a common interest. I have met some good people on this board, but quite honestly it seems to be dominated by a bunch of infantile egomaniacs who obviously don't have anything better to do than participate in a perpetual "My :censor: is bigger then yours" contest for the whole world to see. A good 50% of the threads either start that way or end up there in a few pages (100% of the supercharger discussions seem to end up there), so I just cruise the site for info and only chime in when I am certain I won't get blindsided by some person who has to set the record straight on every single topic.
You want to see new faces post on the boards? Create a more ameanable atmosphere so people feel they can participate without repercussion.

About to get the beater fixed so may stop driving the MM except on nice days so may be able to keep the miles steady. Hell the only thing I do to the MM is change the oil and thats about it, gotta get a new belt this week starting to get a tiny squeak. LOL

Just saw this thread. Yeah, still stock. Like Darth Marauder said, no coin to do enhancement, not with two in college.
Still stock except for the dead pedal, but like Go Mifuni I have a shelf full of parts-gears,tuner,plugs,stat and I just bought the girdle from Nexstar7.Hopefully I'll get 'em done before Krytin has us out to his track...:D

I'm bone stock too :bs: I must admit, I did think the car performed wonderfully in stock trim. All except the shifts.

T-Minus 5 Days till the end of stock and hello Trilogy #117.
Love the car stock but still feels it should have come with better low end grunt and better brakes.
They probably designed the MM so that it didn't scare people right off the showroom floor.
Funny that for such a low production number they took that approach.
Someone in upper management wussed out....and really screwed up.
Chysler is mopping up on that mistake.
COMPLETELY BONE STOCK 1/4 Mile 14.62.

Well, mine lasted about a week after I got it. I put in a K&N Drop in and installed a previously owned SCT Chip w/ a Lidio Tune (Thanks Mad4Macs!).
Up next, Gears! :D

COMPLETELY BONE STOCK 1/4 Mile 14.62. Congrats....no Chrystler nor anything else in the 14's will be keeping up with you in 5 days. Even if they get the jump on you due to a better reaction time, and you have to play catch-up. You'll still fly right be them. I can assure you of that. ;)

I am still stock (that is until I win the supercharger). Did not really plan on modifying until warranty ran out. But since I have an extended warranty that may take awhile.

But since I have an extended warranty that may take awhile. With the amount of mileage that you'll have on your Marauder after an extended warantee is over with, I don't know if it would be a good idea to install a S/Cer on it then. :nono:
