Well after finally getting my fuel issue resolved with a SVT Focus fuel pump and a Kenny Bell boost-a-pump, I had her tuned today. With the initial tune done by Jerry W., over a year ago, I was pushing 412rwhp and 376rwtq and with todays tune I am at 450rwhp and 400rwtq. :woohoo:
The rwhp was 470+ and rwtq was 400+, but was backed off for a more safer tune.
I was also have a problem with the stock MAF pegging at 5 volts at 5500rpm, no more I had a MAFXtender installed and you can tell by the A/F ratio that the spike I was having problems with is now gone. The stock MAF can handle at lot more HP then we give it credit for, with the right persuasion.
I also changed my boost pulley size from a 3.48 to a 3.12, from 6.5psi to at least 9 or 10psi of boost (sorry no boost read-out).
The acceleration response is alot quicker now and top end in 3rd gear is 10 to 20 mph higher. :2thumbs:
I would like to thank the guys (Dave, Chris & Matt) at Kauffman's Motorsports (http://www.kauffmanmotorsports.com/home.html) for all their hard work in making the Black Bomber better then ever.

Not a problem, Gordon, I was glad to help out. I didn't do much for you, other than to help you through your own brainstorming on your upgrade, you did the rest.
Like it's been said ^ there, your new problem will be keeping decent tires on the back end. When we get to Barry's back yard, the three of us will talk, tires are everything...

Congrats on the numbers! :banana2:
I have driven mine for 880 miles with 447 RWHP and 378 RWTQ, it just obliterates the tires, from a dead stop up to a 20 mph roll. :D
On the Interstate it was slightly damp, I stomped it @80mph and it hit the rev limiter before I could let off the gas.

Nice #'s Should be good for 11's on drag radials. I am curious though, You went to a 3.12 pulley and are at 10lbs of boost? At what rpm? We installed a 3.25 on Bill's and have 10lbs @ approx 6500rpm. I am assuming maybe yours comes in earlier. Anyhow his car went a 11.98 with 10-10.5lbs (shifts 6800). So, you should be flying :D

I do not know what the boost is now, it was not recorded. I had 6.5psi of boost with a 3.48 pulley. My tuner told me that with going to a 3.12 pulley I should increase my boost by 3 - 4 psi.

I'll bet it's in the 11-12lb range. Should be solidly in the 11's. :) As long as the A/F ratio is in check it should scream.

As you can see bythe dyno sheet the A/F is between 11 & 12 from 4000rpm all the way past 6000rpm. It would be nice to know, hopefully next time I go to a dyno I can have the boost measured. Thanks for your input.

You're kidding, right? A Kenny Brown/Vortech in the 11s, give my best to Bill, please?
I have the 3.12 pulley on my Kenny Brown/Vortech, and I'm getting 15# of boost @ 5000 RPM. Haggis, how are your estimates being taken? Do you have an AutoMeter boost gauge installed? You may have a leak in the line somewhere. I've got a device that reads MAP (manifold absolute pressure) numbers from the OBDII port. It's not exactly "boost" as it comes out of the blower, but it is the air pressure taken from inside the intake, almost the same, at least it matches my AutoMeter gauge and the figures from my last dyno. It's portable, I'll have it at Barry's. Check it out here?

Kids say the funniest things...
Dominic...The Kenny Brown Marauder S is not a supercharger kit, K? KB doesn't sell kits, it's a whole car makeover.
The heart of the KB system is a custom Vortech centrifugal supercharger that pushes 7.0 psi of boost and is backed by an air-to-water intercooler, upgraded fuel pump and injectors, recalibrated transmission shift points (although the tranny remains a four-speed auto), a thermostatically controlled transmission cooler, a shorter final drive (4.10:1 vs. 3.55:1) and, naturally, a K&N air filter. The suspension features shorter springs which lower the car slightly and urethane sway-bar pivot bushings, but is otherwise stock, and does not provide a marked improvement in handling while losing some compliance, particularly over large bumps. Larger 255/45ZR18 Pirelli tires are also included in the deal, as are Baer/PBR brakes featuring 14-inch front rotors between two-piston calipers.
The results are quite spectacular: the KB Marauder S hits 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, the 1/4 mile in a shade over 13, and is traveling at 130mph when the stock car has just reached 100! So it's fast, then. At a $16,800 premium over the stock car, it's also not that expensive.
I know I will receive some flame on this one, but this KB package is a little dated. There are several new performance packages that exceeds what Mr. Brown is currently offering for a lower cost. I know it’s a package, but they need to upgrade their offering. For those approaching the end of their warranty and excited about performance modifications, you have plenty of choices and more to come. Thanks to some of the innovators on this site and our credit card company’s we roam the earth prowling for new meat.
:pimp:

Sorry Mac...See ya in a couple of weeks and I will buy you a beer, then we can talk about days gone bye.
Sorry Mac? Why apologize to me, Merc? The specifications you noted in your observations are as dated as your opinion of the car, you won't hear me object to an evaluation of the Marauder S from 2002, when there was only one supercharging option for a Marauder, Kenny Brown. Maybe it ran low 13s back then, but I ran 12.4s two weeks ago, same weekend Bill Hall's Marauder S broke into the 11s. Maybe it had only 450+ HP back then, but today, I have 478 RWHP, 434 RWTQ. Yep, lots of things have changed since then, Merc and yes, there are many more options for us today, but, they all still cost money.
That link Dominic posted pointing to the ProCharger kit from F.I.T. appears less expensive in the eyes of a 19 year old, however, to be honest about it, it just another fine ProCharger supercharger kit, minus the water-to-air intercooler option, a savings of approximately 2000 bucks. Reinhart offers the Vortech with, or, without water-to-air options, which is also under 5K and again, almost a 2K savings if you favor the air-to-air technology. If you favor Roots style of supercharging, there remains only one clean choice, the Trilogy kit, with no option on the water-to-air intercooling. That's a bit more cash, but worth every penny.
My point is, that if you are building your Marauder a dime at a time, you can do it that way and think you're saving money, but in the end, you will spend as many dimes as you will sitting down and designing your own custom build, it's your choice on how you want to spend your money, and your time.
With respect to remarks about Kenny Brown needing an update, I have to ask what you mean? He is still willing to build you anything you want, and thanks to his efforts in 2002, a lot of what we jabber about today, are ideas he inspired. Meanwhile, blowers are still blowers, gears are still gears, and tires are still tires. There may be a lot of new stuff we can fit on our Marauders, but that's only aftermarket production catching up with us. All things considered, there hasn't been much new technology at all.
No Merc, you don't owe me any apology, or beer. But, I do think it's sad how Gordon's good news got trashed by another supercharger slap-down.
My apolgies Gordon.
SergntMac

As a active member of C.A.M. I see Gordon very often, and I saw him in person last Saturday. I am very proud of his accomplishment and what he has done with his car over the past few years. He, like many other Marauder owners travel a great distance to get quality work. The reason why I posted the 2002 statistics about the Kenny Brown cars was to give the new members a baseline of were we where at that time, from a historical point of view. I remember Gordon said that he wishes Kenny Brown would produce more aftermarket parts for his car. So Chris and Gordon along with CJ produced some very cool stuff for the membership. Facts are facts and figures are figures. Just look at his modifications list. I see alot of non KB hardware. My point is, that was then and this is now. No flame entended Mac, just my point of view.

I still believe that Kenny Brown builds the best complete 'Kit' for your car and I was very happy with the car as it was sent to me by Kenny's shop. But...I got caught up in keeping up with the Jones's and once you start resistance is futile and man does the green stuff burn a hole in your pocket. Once I started chaning one thing, exhaust for sound and a little performance, something else then needed to be upgraded. No fault of Kenny's, but my own and once you start to change pieces on a car you quickly find yourself having to change something else.
Sort of like a woman you like love her the way she is, but once she buys that new dress next comes the new shoes to match and then it's a new purse, a new hairdo and so on. And she continues to mod, not that there was anything wrong, but once she changes one thing it continues until she has a complete new wardrobe.
So what do you do buy the whole wardrobe at once and get it over with or buy a mod at a time until you have the parts on your car that you want. It's your choice.

ok lets not let this get on towards opinions and or someone will shut it down.Opinions...You mean like this?
I envy you however i have found less expensive kits that have more rear wheel horse powerOr, this?
Yea I know that last time I checked it was like a $13,000 upgrade and all it ran was a 13.3. Yeah I know it's a package, but I was talking about performance, not brakes or any of those other things. :shake:Seems to me everything was moving smoothly along until you posted your opinion, and now you want us to cool off? Bull*****. Opinions are welcome, this board is all about opinions, and you're free to post your remarks and comments, as long as you remain respectful. However, once you do post your opinon, you're responsible for any backlash that may come your way. Happens to me everyday, you don't see me calling quits.
I didn't like your opinion, and you know what else? I didn't like where you decided to post it, and I'm telling you that right here. If you want to do a side by side comparasion of bang for the buck, open your own thread on the topic, but please know something about it before you do.
If you do this again (and I'm sure you will), I'll be there expressing myself (in a civil manner) too.
