After the reception that guy when he came onto the site here looking for first gen Marauders, he probably decided to switch....and just to get at us, left the listing as Marauder:mad2: ! They've been known to switch their programs before.

seems like according to the show - the Marauder ended in 1970 with the LuxoBarge X100. They didn't mention 2003 or 2004 MM's. :(

Oh well, I gotta go cancel all of my scheduled events on the DVR.

I watched it tonight. They mostly talked about the '63-64 Marauders and a tade of the '70 model. I was hopping they would have atleast meantioned the '03-04 version.

You guys missed the whole point of the show...
All of the American Muscle Car shows are the history of 1970 and OLDER cars.
There were a lot of points made about Marauder during the show..

First,
The Marauder started as an ENGINE option.
Buyers who selected MARAUDER option got a Mercury/Edsel/Lincoln 400+ HP,
427 V8, with SOLID LIFTERS, and a Manual Transmission (Something we lack BIG TIME).

Second,
Starting in 1964, models with the 427 V8 could not have
Power Steering, Power Brakes, or Automatic Transmission,
but they had the same Luxury Interior found in most of the low end Lincolns.
Even the cars shared the same Luxury Ride as the vehicle the option was installed on.

Third,
The Marauder was ALWAYS a low production run.
The S55, in particular, was only limited to 500, of which Tony Petro stated,
450 went to racing, 50 went to the puiblic, of which are only 2 left that are known of.

Fourth,
The Mercury Marauder later included other refinements,
and became a vehicle nameplate when things were changed such as
wheelbase, drivetrain, suspension, and the 425 HP Super Marauder 427 V8
with Dual 4BBL carbs !!!
This car ran 1/4 mile @ 15.1 (87 MPH) on the skinny stock tires !
Seasoned drivers with a well tuned Super Marauder V8 cold get well under 13 sec !!
This is what displacement can do WITHOUT Forced Induction !!!

This was the history of Mercury, its beginnings and history in the stock car racing circuit,
and how the Marauder option played out for Mercury through the various
Mercury nameplates.

So without the SM 427 V8 under my hood, and a 4-Speed through the floor,
our Marauder is just a Limited Production Mercury vehicle.
The name fits what Mercury has done in the past, and what Mercury planned on bringing back for 2003.

It was nice to see an X-100 like mine on the show!

If someone records this show, I would like to pay you to send me a DVD of this show.

Thanks,

When I checked my listings for the show (via directv) I got a show about the Ford Galaxy, not the Marauder :(

It still doesn't explain why they didn't keep the same format as their previous shows like the Camaro episode or the Impala episode when they touched on the most recent model years at the end of the show to illustrate where the cars ended up.
