First i want to start off by saying that this post in no way shape or form is to disrespect any Crown Vic owners out there. The other day i was driving in Pembroke Pines going west on Pines Blvd and was stopped at a red light. I rolled down the window to smoke a cigarette and started to look around at the cars around me. My wife said to me " look at this wanabe Marauder ". It was a beat up blue crown vic with the marauder dual exhaust pipes ( sounded like a sick mustang running on 2 cylinders ) with dark tints, grand marquis hub caps with ford center caps. The car was lowered a little in the front and back. Something told me that he was gunna take off once the light turned green to try and make me look bad.....If he only knew....The light changed and he tried to take off. I started to drive and accelerated slowly up to the next light. He looked over at me and took off once the light changed again. I slowly rolled to a stop at the next light and decided to let him know what a REAL MARAUDER can do. I took the O/D off, turned off the air and got ready to bolt. The light changed and we were off....well at least I was....A few seconds later i look in my rear view and I see him trying to catch up to me.....The hole time my wife and i are laughing cuz he was the one who made himself look bad......I just got a kick out of it and realized that some people try tooooooo dam hard to match the MM's........Im sure a lot of you out there have encountered something similar....Just wanted to see if anyone would like to share some of their stories about MM imposters........:bounce:

Haven't had that happen, but I did get punked in the rain the other day by a Chevy Blazer. I was walking the car off the line and at about 45 kicked it and kicked the assend right out from under myself. Game over, he was gone and I bet you couldn't have drove a pin up my arse with a sledgehammer for the next 30 minutes. This is twice now I've been outdone by a piece of crap vehicle in the rain. A darn Ferd Focus got me one day. I kept it straight, just couldn't gain any traction on the wet road. I was very very upset about that and havn't mentioned it until now.

There is a purple CV over my way, I think 2002
He got the 20's, bright purple, chrome all over, MM tips etc.
I feel he is avoiding me. He be behind me but wont pass, makes a turn here and there and stays away. One day I reached the red light and pulled next to him.
I just gave him that look we like to give :nono:
You know that look, right. I don't know why, but when the light turned green, he made a drastic U-Turn and took off the other way.
Now that I've read this post, I finally figured it out. He knows....He know he's just trying too hard.
I think he might be embarrassed. He should'nt be though. Except for that Bright A$$ Purple paint. The CV is clean and sharp looking.

Not stop light to stop light, But I had a gentleman in a red 2000-01 LX try to keep up with me on a winding back road we both travel regularly.
I sure hope he gets all the dirt and gravel out of his wheel wells. :baaa:

A darn Ferd Focus got me one day. I kept it straight, just couldn't gain any traction on the wet road. I was very very upset about that and havn't mentioned it until now.I don't race people in the rain. It just isn't worth it. If it does turn out to be close, then the two drivers in question end up pushing it way past the level that they should be in the rain, and if you get to a bend in the road, then it might very well be game over for one of you due to loss of traction and a big tree waiting on side of the road.

Besides all of that, in the wet weather, even if you beat someone, you never really can be sure if you really did beat him since he might very well have had the sense to back off on the throttle since the pavement was wet. So any "kill" in the rain can't even be considered a legit "kill" anyway.

Okay, back on topic.....as for me, I've never been challenged by any of the CV or marquis guys. They hear the exhaust tone, and see the wide P305 drag radials on the back of my car, and they just don't even try to mess with me.(but the Mustang guys as well as the camaro SS guys do, and I LUV it when they do:D ).

Wow....a Pompanette being "shown". Did someone break into my garage? Sgt Mac, you would most certainly appreciate the story that goes along with this. Don't be so hard on the Crown Vic/ Grand Marquis people who are Marauder wanabee's. They are just trying to get by.....and that's all they have $$$.
They are FORD people/panther people....NOT "bow ties" or "tuners". Try to give them some support, so someday they can catch a used Marauder for 2-3K and join the club.
If there were NO Marauders, I would be in a Crown Vic Sport myself!

Gotta Love It! :bandit:

I love my sport,it's not the fastest B-body nor the slowest Ford-B
I do not agitate any car that is potentially gonna embarrass me
I go for the sure win,and plus my car is stock, limited, and not a hopped up cobra motored wonder rocket.....
I know which American,German, and Japanese cars are potentially lethal.... ;)
So I drive like GandPa
