Well I tried that kooky vinegar/soapy hot water mix, I'll be damn if I wasn't impressed with the results. Thank you SergtMac for telling about it. I used White House (since 1908) 'White Distilled' vinegar (from natural grains) mixed with hot water and Blue Coral (Cleaning Since 1927) and went to town on the car. It could be my imagination, but the amount of suds and foam produced seemed way more than usual even tho I used the same amount as always. The kicker was this: I've always had to immediately wipe the car down to prevent spots and streaks. This time, I wiped off the top, wiped of the hood, wiped off the trunk, and noticed both sides of the car had already dried SPOT AND STREAK FREE!! I couldn't believe it! But like they say, seeing is believing so now I do.

I thought the vinegar was supposed to be in the rinse water.

Maybe it was, I don't remember the whole thread, just figured what the heck I'll try it. I'm sold on it.

Actually all is not lost. After being a Cement contractor for 20 years, I have run into this on a regualr basis and there are a few things you can do. First, you didn't say how heavy the splash was, so I will give you both methods. First if it is light, grab some Vinegar from the wifes kitchen. Put some in a spray bottle and apply to the spots or splash. If it is a light "shadow" like splash, this shoud take it off. However, if you got the real heavy duty chunk stuff stuck on the paint, you will need the heavy stuff. Find someone with a pool and borrow some muratic acid (that's right, acid) and put it in your spray bottle. Get your hose and put your truck in the street or in the dirt, not your concrete driveway!!! Spray the affected area and after the concrete starts to bubble for a few moments, wash it off with a hose. The acid will counter the alkali in the cement and make it wash off easily. The precautions you need to take are not to get it on unpainted metal (like chrome or alloy wheels) or on rubber (would stain it, not eat it). The acid will not harm the paint, and a coat of wax after your done is all that is needed. Cement truck owner/operators have used this for years to keep their expensive investments on the road. This is also useful in lightening oil stains on the concrete driveway, and as long as it is washed off right away, will not harm the surface of the concrete. Be careful not to get it on your clothes (unless you like the tie-dye look) and wear rubber gloves. It is effective, and cheap, and will do the job better than any commercial cleaner.
Sorry for the lengthy post, but it really works. Be safe, Sarge"

Vinegar is good for alot of stuff. If you have dandruff, after you wash your hair rinse with it. Goes away right now. One of the Cesars in ancient Rome used to use it on his face after he "Plucked" his facial hair. Used spyder web dipped it in Vinegar. Wow.
