Woodward heats up early!

I'm shocked....but pleased. This weekend's great weather in the Detroit area brought out the car community in big numbers. Spontaneous car shows and hang outs sprung up in more than a few places. The traffic cruisin' was thick with performance.

I popped in the local shell station that has been popular the last few years. Lots of fine cars for this early in the year. I snapped a few pics of the early season action. Sorry about the quality:)

Thanks, Mike, I agree. Spring has sprung, lot's of neat stuff is getting unwrapped, and it's not Xmas. It's not much different around here, and I'm learning this more every day. Thanks for the pics, I need to get a simple camera (if they are still called that) to capture moments like this.

I was up there Friday night and it was hopping then too. By the way, I spoke to a guy that said some guy driving a blk MM had been beating guys on Woodward so he knew about our cars :bows: . Thanks a lot buddy for scaring everyone away. :rolleyes:

Yep, I just bought a cheapy digital camera and I leave it in the MM for just this kind of thing. Its a good purchase if you like "capturing the moment" spontaneously.

LOL...yeah, although there certainly are quicker cars out there than mine, I've managed to get a bit of a reputation going out there. When I pull into the Northwood Shopping plaza (13 and Woodward), I now get the hushed whispers of "hey, there's that Marauder" and a small crowd always gathers. I don't think its so much the sheer performance more than it is that the car is such a sleeper. That, and of course, putting the hurt on so many folks gets tha chatter going after a while.

This weekend when i was in the plaza, there were about 15 ricer cars in a group. Supras, WRXs, Neon SRTs...the usual suspects. Well, this mustang guy I know that's there all the time came over to tell me that they were having a "pow wow" over which one of them wanted to challenge me. Apprarently the talk was something like, "YOU go challenge him", "No, YOU go", "No, not me, what about Bob...Bob has more boost" ...LOL. I dunno cause no one came over to talk. They just kept looking at the motor and underneath the car and mumbling to themselves:D

Anyway, I'm sure there will be more than enough fresh meat out there for you Slim. Woodward draws new unsuspecting folks every weekend:D

Exactly! The crowd out here grows bigger all the time. I've never seen it THIS ramped up this early in the season.

I think it is also a case of "cabin fever". After the winter we had I think everyone wants to enjoy this weather for as long as they can.

I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. But, there was also a lot of talk about the dreamcruise already. I even overheard some guys at the shell station talking about "the marauder guys" having rented out the BK.
