I was over at the 300C site and there is a video showing a guy doing some burnouts and drifting in a new 300C SRT-8. This guy goes through a set of tires too. Watch out Billy.....http://www.300cforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6096

Thanks for that vid Slim. It got pretty good towards the end. I can assure you that there was nothing left of his tires after that regardless of what kind they were (believe me, I know!). It's pretty cool how he just kept the front wheels cut to the left or the right. I was going to do some of that in my video, but because that can be real tough on rear end posi units, I decided against it. Especially in light of "Fordnut" speaking about how in his lengthy experience with factory Ford posi units, you're lucky if you get anymore than 50,000 miles out of the clutches as it is w/out doing dougnuts like that!!

BTW, I think that 300C exhaust sound is real lame. It sounds real wussy compared to even stock Marauders.

WOW!!! That dude is one sick MOFO!!!

Very impressive 300C, completely crossed up and drifting...especially when that thing would 'WHUMP' into second gear.

He was ANNIALATING those rear tires....of course his windsheild logo said "TIRE RACK"....

Wussy exhaust, yes, I agree. But that was on bad video!!. I doubt that car is privately owned. With all thos Dodge stickers everywhere, it has to be a publisity stunt.

That was at a Chrysler sponsered autocross event. The driver supplied by Chrysler was just putting on a show for the people.

Did you notice the Tire Rack banner? They will need some new tires for sure!

That's some good stuff!

Thanks for sharing the vid.

The 300C SRT-8 was in the 2005 Cannonball run, as was the Panther.
The SRT-8 was #6 in the end of all the races, the 500+ rwhp Panther was #34.
The stock Marauder exhaust sounds farty when you listen to it from the inside of another car.

The panther would have definitely been higher up had not it missed some of the events due to faulty fuel pump wiring.

as i was asking can anybody host a vid? does anybody have a large enough e-mail mailbox that will take the file?

The Lincoln LS got in the 20s but it had blown out the transmission prior.

The 300C SRT8 still got in the top 10 the first time running this race. German Engineering. Otherwise it's a matter of could have, should have, would have...

I was there and saw it in person. The guy really knew what he was doing.

We walked over to the car after the event as he was changing the rear tires (of course). The tread had come off in one long continuous string and was wrapped around the rear driveline. The wires were also showing.

The Cobra-powered CVPI also put on a nice show.

That don't compared to Billy's cause it wasn't his car or his tires!

[Wesman hits the nail square on the head.]

Impressive? Yes.

Better than Billy's? No.
