Hey guys, I hope this doesn't upset anyone or get me banned. I know the administration can get picky about what's posted (understandable), so if this thread is inappropriate on this forum, just delete it; don't band me LOL
Check it out: http://www.enspiar.com/marauder - have fun!

Not my place to try and stop anyone from starting their own marauder forum... Heck, I encourage it! Diversity isn't a bad thing. I choose to run this site the way I do, if someone wants something different, they can do whatever they like.
No different than a pub... Don't like this one, go to the next one, no one really cares where you do your drinking!!
Best of luck with it! One time advertisement though on the house, no more threads and don't abuse my PM system pls!

The conspiracy theorists would have you believe that that's exactly why I support it, so I "Look good"...
I can't win either way, so all I do is what I think is right, everyone's free to like it or lump it, Logan don't care much what y'all think. (I mean that in a nice, polite way...)

Since Logan didn't close this thread after his input, I accept that as implied consent that it's okay to comment on the opening post, and topic at large.
Thank you for your effort on our behalf, blackf0rk, I don't know what it takes to establish a website, but I'm sure it's a lot of work. I hope those among us who feel they need a website where they can post anything they want without any restraint (self-imposed, or, moderated) take advantage of your labor, and your new Marauder site flourishes. I sincerely wish you well.
Personally, I enjoy the atmosphere here. I know the house rules, because I've broken them all, one time or another. I have tried the patience of my host and I've been disciplined for my misbehavior, in one manner, or, another. Honestly, I feel Logan, MM03MOK, and mercman have been very kind with me, and patient with my thick headed ways. I have survived here because I will heel, and do what is necessary to continue interacting with my friends here. If this somehow paints me as "weak", so be it. My friends are more important to me than throwing my weight around anywhere on the web.
I caution you, sir, do away with rules and you create a law-less land. It's a nifty feeling to imagine that no one can stop you from posting what you want to post, but in the long run, no rules = bad neighborhood, and no thanks.
This MM.Net is my home on the web, and I invite folks to stop by and check us out. In our hearts, we are good people, and we mostly shine as an example of a well run website among the "information superhighway" ghettos and wastelands already present.
I've always loved this metaphore, that the Internet is like some kind of two lane blacktop we can travel at will, and go anywhere we want to go, anytime we want to take a drive. However, when it comes to inviting folks to an exit ramp for a rest, and visit me in my "home town", do I want them to find me in a comfy, safe and extravagant vacation nest? Or, a desolate law-less "outback" where it's every man for himself?
The folks I invite are usually professionals. They could be automotive developers, vendors, contributors, and people who in some way, may come to offer us a lot of good stuff once we earn their attention and respect.
But, they are all businessmen first, and once they see who we are and what we are trying to accomplish around this wonderful automobile, it's not a problem for them to toss their hat into our ring, and offer us stuff.
Sometimes, it's exotic and rare offerings we would never see without their attention to us, other times it's the usual generic options, but at discount we would not see without being offered a "group buy". Either way, it's good for us, but if it's not good for them too, we don't get dick.
To ask them dial in to a site with no rules, much like that SVT site that's real hot right now appears, well, that would not work towards our benefit. I cannot see how supporters like Wes Chain, Jerry Barnes, Team Ford, Sutton Ford, Dennis Reinhart, ToddTCE, Kooks, Metco, Naake, and a half dozen more I can't recall now, would want to be associated in any way with a group like that. I'm hoping for Grand Muffler to burst out among us, but none of them will take this step, if it's not good business for them. If for no other reason, none of them would get a word in edgewise as vendors, on a site that has no restrictions on a member's behavior, get me yet?
This coming Sunday, we're having another Windy City Marauders "chicken run", which is just another local MM owner's meet, no big deal. But, promising to come meet us are reps from PER, who build top notch 4.6L race engines, and MirrorLook, who does custom polishing and plating, and is a local "World of Wheels" champion ten years in a row now, both of whom "read our mail" here. Imagine us here, without rules, without Logan, MM03MOK and mercman. What would we look like to them then?
Do you think they would be eager to join us real time in a suburban parking lot forgotten long ago, and with no rules? If we here were allowed to act just like the Marauders @ SVTPerformance are allowed to act right very this moment? Like a bunch of kids acting up only because "teacher is out and a substitute with no clue is in", well, I just can't see any of them wanting to show up, simply because Illinois doesn't issue handgun permits to businessmen. It gets worse when you think about MV-III. If the SVT site behavior is a hint of what one can expect to find in a parking lot along Woodward Blvd., best bring a First-Aid kit along with you. I'm sorry to dis MV-III, but it is that bad, IMHO.
Imagine this, blackf0rk...Imagine that the State of Missouri suddenly declared itself free of contemporary and accepted social (and governmental) rules. Imagine that if you lived in Missouri, you would not need a driver's license, insurance, not even a minimal age, or, degree of soberness to be behind the wheel. Imagine that you could drive a brand new car by just signing your name on several dotted lines, but not have to make any payment for it, and never have to register that car in your name, not even display at least one license plate on the rear. Imagine that you would not need to maintain brakes, wipers, tires, suspension, adequate lighting after dusk, turn signals, brake lights and so on, to any minimal standard (perhaps not at all), because there are no stop signs, traffic lights, double yellow lines highway medians, guard rails hell, you won't even have to wear clothing while driving anywhere!
It's your car only because you are behind the wheel, and you can do anything you want while behind the wheel of your car, because there are no rules, no restraints, ever. You are one free automotive soul behind the wheel. Now...Imagine all of this is possible in the State of Missouri, and all the folks in America who wish/want to live free of these dumb rules, move to Missouri. Would you want to live there too?
I think not. If you feel it's neat to offer us a web site with no rules that require mutual respect of all members and set a standard for minimal acceptable behavior, well, go for it. I wish you well, but don't worry about finding a long term domain name, eh?
I don't expect you will be needing that.
IMHO, just my .02c. Carry on...

Woa
I think some people may be reading a little too much into this new site. Let me explain just so that I don't burn any bridges or create enemies at this great site.
First let me say, Sarge, that I agree with you on the whole rules thing 100%
The Marauder forum that I created wasn't in away created so slap MM.net in the face and say, "Ha - no rules! Take That!" On the contrary, the forum I started has rules, and regulations - ones that I intend inforce; ones that are like the ones here.
I started the new forums because, for one, I'm a Web Developer - that's my job, my hobby, and what I do for fun. I also love the Marauder, so I put two and two together. :)
Now, MM.net is bound by certain rules because it is supported by vendors. It's a common fact, and it's just a general thing that along with being a member here at MM.net. In many cases it's great to have THREE+ SUPPORTING VENDORS just for superchargers - that's awesome.
My site however isn't financed or helped by vendors of this kind. Because of this the site's scope is a tad different. Instead of trying to focus on the vendors products only, which again I would like to bring out that it's not a bad thing, my forums enable individuals to freely post information, articles, products and things without having to feel their betraying a vendor or whatever emotion may go along with it, or violating common sense rules pertaining to their board they're visiting.
For example, McDonalds is a great fast food store. But where I live you can't buy alcohol (In AZ you can  ...anyways...). Does this make McDonald's apparant worth diminish? Hardly. People just go to a bar when they feel like having a burger and booze. MM.net offers things to individuals that my forum couldn't ever offer. My forums were in no way created to compete with MM.net. They're two different animals all together.
I can't win everyone over, so if you just plain don't like the idea I'm sorry, but please don't let that effect your opinion of me. I love the MM site - it's where I started and I will always be here. :)

Honestly, this thread's here solely because I think a little forum diversity is a good thing. I've toyed with the idea of an unmoderated version of mm.net a couple times...
I think blackfork's reasons for starting another site are just fine. I'm not the internet cop, everyone who so inclined can fire up whatever they like on the net. Just is a bigger menu to choose from.
So, don't anyone give fork a hard time, wasn't easy for this site when it started out either, there was a fair degree of scepticism from the other panther based sites...
It's all good man... If it wasn't, you wouldn't be reading this thread at all.
So please, if folks like a looser style for their maraudering, by all means, hang out there, hang out here, hang out anywhere. I certainly don't own the monopoly on Marauder sites... There's a place for everything.
