Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 155,000 Crown Victoria sedans.
The company says a sound insulator under the dash of the 2003-2005 models could slip out of position and overheat. They warn this could cause a fire in the vehicle.
A Ford spokeswoman said the company has received a few reports of fires as a result of the problem, but no reports of accidents or injuries as a result.
Owners will be notified about the recall and can bring their cars to a Ford dealership for repairs.
Most of the cars affected by the voluntary recall are located in the U.S. and Canada and are commonly used as police cars or taxis.
In January, Ford recalled 792,000 pickup trucks and SUVs because a speed control switch could overheat. This problem also posed a fire hazard.
