Coming back from another fine CAM meet, this time on Kent Island, westbound on 50, I spot a Canary Yellow Prowler taking the on ramp. I asked the wife does she think he is going to get on and she says no. With the planets in alignment he exits and gets on, right by me, the wife and kids. And the guy does the unthinkable, he hits it, his exhaust farted, and this cat moved absolutly no where. I ignored the first show of power so this guy gooses it again, and this time I had to do it. 3/4 throttle, 4500 rpm and the yellow "pudder," just faded to black. All they could do is look dumbfounded and think, that wasn't supposed to happen. After that, the wife says don't play with this guy with the kids in the car so I set the cruise @ 80 and headed home. I don't even consider this a kill. Great day on the Island though.

Well they'er really just a all show and nothing else car I know all the 1997 up until the 2001 only had a 215 HP 3.5L V6 and around a 3200 3300 LB curb weight.

I personally agree with your wife. You should never play :nono: while chauffeuring the little ones. Those rug rats add weight and reduce your trap speed. You also have additional issues when the passenger seat is occupied. So a word to the wise, “Leave them at home”.
That will insure a peaceful ride and better 60 foot times.

I wanted to lag back and show a little more but the wife was right, the boys were in the car. I knew better than that.

Honestly it was not the little ones in the car that stopped you now, was it? It was the 'BOSS' that put her foot down. I was talking to Bill while she was putting Sean into his seat and Bill told me he likes it when you go fast and that he tells you to go faster. But, the wife is right that's why she's the 'BOSS', but I know you would not do anything to indanger the future Houses of tomorrow.
One more thing it is not nice picking on the handicapped, but it sure is fun.

I get the same lecture sometimes.
My son loves it when we go to the car wash, wants the traction control off so we can have a little fun.

It is very hard to stop fooling around with the MM when there are voices behind you going "Faster, Daddy!!! Faster!!!!"

Yeah I am finding that out. My son likes the exhaust roar at WOT...he sits backs and laughs and says "I like that." Hey, what kinda of father am I if I can't get my little one to appreciate the thunder of a real V8. You gotta love it.

You don't want to give those little guys any ideas for when they start driving. Mine is now twenty and has gotten few speeding tickets since he got his license and always used the excuse "look how you drive!". Tried explaining that I don't get tickets cause I'm older and other "factors" and that the traffic enforcement types prefer young hot shots like him, not old guys like me in what looks like a Grand Marquis. Anyway.... had occasion to drive (beat on a little) a plumb colored Prowler for about an hour once that was a theft recovery with about 5k on the clock. I was way disappointed with it in the grunt department, but it was fun to drive. With the top down it was kinda like driving a large, powerful, well appointed go-kart. Seeing the front fenders turn with the wheels in the twisties was distracting and took some getting used to though.

I got a kick out of my 18-month-old grandson last week. He's just starting to talk and three-letter words are all the rage ... dog, cup, etc. So the wife and I are trying to encourage him by pointing out things so he can name them ... we point to her vehicle and he says "car" then she points to the marauder and he says "vroom! vroom!"
I almost fell down laughing, but he's sure a fast learner. :burnout:
Either he picked it up unconsciously while I was driving him around or ... I'm making little "vroom" sounds while I drive. (It's about a 50/50 chance either way.) :)
