Marauder Cancelled?

One of my buddies at work mentioned that his latest Motortrend magazine indicated that the Marauder was being cancelled do to lack of sales? Can anyone confirm this?

The short story is there has been no official word by Mercury. It's rumored, but not substantiated by anyone. Motor Trend is preaching rumor as Gospel

Resale value may climb back from the abyss it's currently in... For instance, take a 2003 Marauder off the lot, put 100 miles on it and trade it in, I guarantee you'll be hard pressed to get an offer from a dealer over $22.5K

You know, at first I thought it would be a good thing, making us rare and all but now I am a little disapointed. A niche automobile on a limited but on going production, ever improving and evolving would make for an interesting "membership" and a high desire product.

Not to mention the plethora of after market development.

It's a sad state of affairs.

At least the 4.6 DOHC engine is used in other performance platforms. That should help in keeping aftermarket developers interested.
