When I bought the Marauder it had Ventshades over all four windows, I thought the car came from the factory with them. I've only managed to talk to 2 other Marauder owners and aside from asking me if I painted the car blue, they both asked where I got the Ventshades and if they worked well. They both wanted a set to keep rain from dripping onto the window controls when they cracked the window to either smoke or throw change in a toll booth basket. Yes, they work fantastic in my opinion, and the part number is 94228. If you Google Ventshade and type in either Ford Crown Vic or Mercury Grand Marq or just the 94228 by it's self it will show them on a truck. Why they show a truck, I have no idea. If I could ever figure out how to put a picture on here I would, just doesn't seem to work for me. They are smoked, and stand out a little against blue, against black they would blend in awsome I'm sure.

I just dug out the receipt and this was purchased 12/31/03 for the amount of $77.13 mind you that Ramsey ford is an overpriced place i am sure this could be purchased cheaper threw Ray = Dealer..
On the same invoice i also bought a new owners manual as my car didn't come with it(which @ the day of receiving this new one they place i purchased my MM found the original from the 1st purcahser) @ $42.00.

Parts-$119.13
Freight-$6.95
Sales Tax-$5.95
Total=$132.04

I put this so you can see the difference from your local purchaser compared to mine..Which by the way i will never purchase anything from there again..

Fordparts.com lists them for $66.25 plus $9.95 shipping. My guess is that Ray can match or beat that price, and he >is< a sponsoring vendor here.

$60 for all 4 doors, from a local customising shop...and they installed them for free...

I've also seen the exact same kind (VentVisor by AutoVentShade) at AutoZone...

Donny,

The door sill plates in your picture... do they come as a set of 4 (rear doors included?)

If so, where did you get them and what did they cost ? (if you don't mind my asking)

What is the brand of visors that go up into the window rather than use adhesive on the chrome trim

They are made by WeatherTech. See http://www.weathertech.com. I chose to go with these instead of the ones available thru the FLAPS. I didn't want to hide the chrome trim around the windows.

I have Weatherflectors. They fit in to the window channel. (look below...closely)

I have the WeatherFlectors too. They are from MacNeil Automotive.
MacNeil is a big catalog outfit for automotive accessories.

The WeatherFlectors cost more, they are THICKER than the Vent Visors,
and they stick to the INSIDE of the Window Channel.

The Vent Visors adhere to the door frame.
They work the same, but the look is different.

They sound great, but I just checked that site and they are listed as $103.95 without shipping now for the Grand Marquis and MM. (?)

Guess I'll buy direct from Weathertech...

Yeow, what a difference 11 months makes! I looked up my email invoice and last July 15th I paid $79.99 shipped. I think maybe our friends in OPEC had something to do with the price increase????

Yep, could be, or just plain supply and demand! Although these that I ordered are the supposedly "new" dark tinted ones. Are those the ones you got?

I'll tell you the truth, the only reason I didn't get these before now was that I thought they might screw up the look of the car. I didn't want these to look like cheap plastic add-ons, but going on your recommendations I just ordered a set for my '03 black mm.

Guess I'll find out!

Thanks very much for all the info.

NormYes, I have the dark tinted ones on my 04 DTR. They blend in quite well. As someone stated above I did not want to cover the chrome so I went with the weathertech in channel flectors. These are a snap to install, very well made in Germany and work really well. I had vent shades on my last car and these are head and shoulders above them in every respect.
