Hello all,

Is there a way to install a trip/ fuel consumption meter in the stock compass location? I would rather have a indicator that I can get more use out of than just a compass that turns on and off. I would like to install the one like the Super Duty trucks have that keeps track of how many miles you have left on the gas tank and counts the miles during trips. I know I should just watch the gauges but digital is way cooler isn't it? Thanks, Rob

www.scangauge.com

This plugs into your OBDII port, no other wiring required, and it has limited trip monitor features, you present trip, and a summary of the day before. This data is produced by the EEC, and this tool just reads what's available. I find it handy for gas mileage miles traveled and stuff, but it's not a full service trip monitor like I had in my town car. Can't see it fitting in the OH console, but it's once choice available for you. Happy motoring.

The scanguage is pretty cool, but it ain't pretty. It's got a lot of info, but the box is pretty bulky. I thought at one time somebody (DR maybe?) was working with the company that makes it have a custom version made that would fit where the clock is on the 300A 03's. I wouldn't mind losing the clock, or the compass. It does look like the unit used on the Super Duties would fit right in the OH console, don't it?

I bet the company would do a pretty good group buy. I bought 5 for work, and got them for around $92 each.

What you don't like ours that says "Mode" but really means "ON/OFF"

It is a 'mode' switch if it does more than one purpose :P

Pushing it turns it on and off, holding it in turns on the compass calibration setting.

We really do need to figure out something better to put there. The best thing I've seen yet is Donny's XM receiver covering it up. Once some brave sole figures something out we'll all be on that bandwagon.

I think I'll put a K.I.T.T. voicebox up there :nerd:
