My 300A came with the orginal window sticker but not the owners manuel. Can I set one of the 3 buttons in the overhead console to open my garage door? If so, how...? Also I have only seen my MM up close - I have some strange flat wiper baldes on my MM. Is this factory? or did the previous owner fall for a late night infomercial scam..LOL

Thanks,:)

Tony

Yes you can, but you'll need the manual to go through it. I read it, and it seemed like too much of a hassle to do.

I have the flat blades as well, so I think they're from the factory.

Hold the two outside buttons together till the red light flashes on overhead console, the push the garage door opener button and one of the three overhead buttons together till the light flashes again.Whichever button you held down on the overhead console will operate the garage door.I know this is a hassle but if you give it a try you may be suprised how easy it is!:P J/K.
Enjoy your new ride and welcome to the collec,... sorry that's not my line.:o

Thanks! I'll give it a go tomorrow. I wish my MM came with the owners man. / keyless entry code.

You can order a new owners manual I believe.

It is a little different if you have the "roaming" signal. You have to press the "learn" button on the garage door opener itself and then go back into the car and do the other things. If it doesn'r work Bradley's way ask us tomorrow and we can provide the instructions for the roaming codes.

That Bradley! He left out the part about putting down the left side passanger window, climbing over the seat back then out the window, doing 5 handstands, while yelling the secret yell, and um, .....better get the manual. I did mine, and hope I don't have to do it again. The elderly are at a real disadvantage when it comes to doing this stuff.

The windshield whiper thingeys had a TSB on some of 'em because they were the Ronco "can't do nothing" models, and many of them were replaced, as were mine.:)

Oh, sorry, Tony, to be impolite. Welcome, and enjoy the group.:welcome:

Um, the answer to your next two questions are Synthetic, and Trilogy; but don't ask, 'cause it's gonna start a war.:hide:

First of all, Welcome!!

I believe the 2003 300a will actually have a Grand Marquis "type" owners manual. My 300b does. My homelink (in the center counsol) was difficult to program, but it works now. No advice since i do not have my manual in front of me.

The code for the door keypad should be on a sticker in the trunk. I believe it is on the passanger side trunk support.

Enjoy your new car!

You can download a manual in PDF format for free off of the Mercury website. If you can't find it let me know by sending a PM.

Then you should be able to order a manual. Your dealer will probably tell you to order it from www.helminc.com .

:) I believe you have to hold the remote it learns from and hold down the button on the Homelink at the same so it learns the code. The instructions in the manual were so good I finally got the Homelink in my wife's Maxima to work also. The wipers are the originals...keep them if you can, they seem to work best on our vehicles.

You CAN buy a manual from your Ford Dealer.....

Also, they should be able to read your code for you.

Finally... I thought the code was on a sticker someplace on the car but I forget where. I know where they are on my 1988 Turbo Coupe... but that isn't going to help much ! :o

Dang..all the other guys answered your questions first. :( I haven't gotten around to trying to program the Homelink button to my garage opener yet.
Side note:
Hey.. do you guys/girls know if there is something comparable to OnStar that I can add to our vehicles?

You can also purchase an owners manual on line from HELM.

If you need a manual, give this a try, it's free and it gives you access to a number different manuals for Ford vehicles.

My original wipers were amazing, but around 25k the teflon-type coating wore off the rubber and smeared black all over the glass, that was extremely difficult to remove

If someone sold new real OE stock wipers I would buy them. I have some expensive aftermarket blades on and I hate them. They clean so well, but they do not lubricate at all, so they give a perfectly dry window and chatter

Tony, welcome to the site...the members here know more about this car than anyone, especially the dealers...

Can't answer your garage-door opener Q...my opener is too old and only works with the provided transmitter.

The strange flat blades you have may be originals. They worked like ass and are no longer supplied by the factory. I bought my car in Sept of '02 and replaced the blades in Oct because they streaked and chattered so badly.

I tried NAPA silicone and Bosch Micro-Edge XL blades. Both worked well, but didn't last long and were expensive. I've since found the Michelin blades sold at Wally World work very well and are reasonably priced, so replacing them every six months isn't a big deal.

Dealer can bring up your door code on his computer. That's how I got mine.

What the others have said. your keyless door code should be on one of your trunk hinges. Mines on the left 5 numbers Seneca

I also replaced my blades immediately, that was my first mod.
