I've got Lidios 9.5" rims now, is this the tire I need?
At the Discount Tire site for $229. Sounds cheap for some reason.

What I do is give them a call and tell them that I want them "heat cycled" which is a service that they offer for $15 extra per tire. I thought it was sales hype at first, but I called the Nitto tire company directly to ask if they recommedn that, and they told me that they do. But if you're not going to use them on the track, then you might not need that. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/brochure/tire/HeatCycleInfo.jsp

Thanks Billy. I just did another search and found the same size tire but ZR rated for $294 [here] (http://customwheelsmarket.com/nittirntdrag1.html).
I guess I won't be breaking the 149 mph speed limit for the VR tire anytime soon. Don't have my Turbocharger yet. :o

Something doesn't sound right there Dave. As far as I know, there's only one type of Nitto drag radial tire, and there aren't different speed rating on it. i think that other place is advertising the same tire for more $$. Go on the Nitto website to check it out.

Here's a tip for ya Dave.....when you have the P305 Nitto tires installed, don't let them tell you that they won't work. That's what the tire place that installed them for me tried to tell me. When the car is off of the ground, and the weight isn't on the suspension, the innrer sidewalls of the tires will be right up against the shock absorber bodies. But just tell them that when the weight of the car is on the shocks, and they're compressed, the tires will no longer be up against them like that. The reason for that is simply because of the fact that the shock obsorbers lean inward, and when they're extended (as when the weight of the car isn't compressing them) then they draw closer to the inner sidewalls of the back tires. ;)

Make sure to check for rubbing once the car is on the ground though. My tires rubbed on the shocks and a few other members here have had the same problem and we had to get spacers. :twocents:

Based on the two previous responses, # 7 and #8, spacers or not?....in other words....is one of you using differenct type shocks--is that the reason for the difference between you...?? ...Thanks...Tom

Tom: Some cars had rubbing (mine for example) and some did not. Once I went with the QA1's I had no more rubbing issues.

Thats was my other thought--- since there has been some talk lately on them here --DR is holding a GB --so--I guess it's better to just have those for insurance for just about anything one may want and to do....your opinion...Thanks........Tom

I'm getting the Nitto's strictly for the track and for shows. We get a car show a month here in Bradenton down at Mel's diner and I also spend a lot of time at the track just for fun and to let the hellraiser out of his cage for a gallop or two so he doesn't go nuts on the street.
This QA1 shock interests me though. Hopefully this summer I'll be getting the turbocharger after I finish upgrading the driveline and suspension so I might need to be running the Nitto's full-time then and I'd much rather go with the shocks than weaken the driveline with spacers between the hubs and wheels.
Anybody running those QA1 shocks feel free to horn in and foam all over at the mouth about how great they are, or aren't.

My car has always had the stock shocks, and the tires in question don't rub except for momentarily when I go over speed bumps, and I'm not worried about that since the tread wears out long before the sidewalls ever would just from a momentary shafe going over speed bumps. I've went through two pair of them now, amd I've just purchased the third pair, and when I have the old ones removed, the sidewalls never look that bad at all while the treads are down to almost nothing.
If they rubbed all the time on my car, then I think that Iwould go the route that Marty has with the different shocks.

I guess I'll just wait on the shocks --can always do that later--unless there is a big savings over the GB---can some one pm me the diff of that??.
And I suppose this has been mentioned somewhere--but ...does this rear size 305/45/18 throw off the speedo any and if so--how to correct?..Thanks.......

.....Thanks Billy....btw.....what is your thoughts on what front sizes to wear with these rears........Thanks..TomI don't think it matters. I happen to use the stock P245's that originally were on the rear, on the front. But that's only because it levels out the front-to-back ride height of the car and I happen to like it that way instead of having the front sit lower than the back does. To me the car looks better sitting a little closer to level. I think it might also be better for drag racing to have the car sit almost as high in the front as it does in the back, but that's just my guess and I won't spend any great effort debating about that.
BTW, maybe the reason that I can run the rear tires on the front of the car is because my Marauder does NOT have traction control, and for those who do have Marauders with traction control, they might not be able to do that. I dunno about that. All is I do know is that it doesn't effect the ABS.
