Now here was a car that like the MM could not sell. In 1970 they were giving them away.

Now it is worth $100,000.

I wanted one of those so bad when I was a kid. A local tire shop owner had it I would have eatin old tires for it.

Not only were they practically giving them away, Dealers were removing the superbird body pieces to make them a "normal" car just to move them

I had a friend who owned 3 of them. The last one I know he bought was a HEMI paid less than $5000 for it in 1980!

LOL! I remember those. A kid I went to college with owned a blue one and decided to "light 'em up" in the parking lot one afternoon. What a smoke show! The rubber slabs were stuck to the pavement for months! With that huge spoiler on the back, whatdaya think... does it look like a prehistoric ricer?:D

In 1981 one of my customers picked up a solid, but slightly ratty Daytona for $250 off a used car lot,54,000 miles, base 440 that still ran nice. I offered him $2,500 for it,no luck.
