I discovered this car too late ('03 Cobra owner) and now playing catchup. I'm buying a 2004 Marauder and love the fender badges one of the members had made. Does anybody have a pair that they would be interested in parting with? Thanks, Jim S.

I was one of the guys who made them and as far as I know, there are no sets left anywhere. However, I may have two of the same "side" badges left (there was originally a "left" side and a "right" side). If you are interested, let me know and I will run down to my garage and check to see and if I have them, let me know and we will work something out.
Or, if there are enough folks interested, I would consider doing another group purchase, as long as it is pre-paid. I would need to do at least 50 sets to make this worthwhile.

I know of one Vancouvor BC member that was asking about them today. I bet there are enough members intrested to get the group buy going. :)
If we are talking about the badge that was "MARAUDER" and little checkered flag on it, put me down for a set.
47 pairs to go.

This is a picture of what is being discussed. Yeah, yeah, I know it looks like the paint sucks on my car (we are working on that), but an 8.5 megapixel camera brings out every little detail, even if it is a flaw.

I definitely want a set and would probaly by a spare set just in case. Especially if that puts us over the number we need to get a build going! Glad to see this board is still so active. I was afraid that some of the excitement had worn off since Mercury stopped production.

I am seeing what kind of pricing I can get if this is going to be a small quantity run (i.e. 50 sets).

Anyone purchasing these badges may want to consider 2 pairs...
There is a lot of work that goes into producing these badges,
and if you should unfortunately have a fender bender and need replacements
you would have to wait for them, if there is a group buy running.
If there currently isn't any buys, then your wait would be longer.
Just about everything we create for our Marauders is custom made,
and the replacements can only come from the original source,
since they are only produced by one venue, and for limited amounts.
When I purchased my enblems, I bought 2 sets.
The first is on my Marauder, and the second is put away,
to hopefully never need, but hey, you never know...
I'd rather have extras, then have a need to have replacements.

Nope. Hold on a minute, K?
Note that there are two badges in one "set", one for the driver's side of the car, one for the passenger side, and the flags point towards the front of your MM. This is the way it was back in '63.
Anyone wanting more pics, I've got a .zip file I can FWD, e-mail me at SergtnMac@aol.com. I'd be glad to send it out to you, to further assist this final call.
If any of y'all are on the fence about these badges, let me say they are of the highest quality I have ever seen in aftermarket products. Snooze, you lose.

Count me in for a set.
Here is how it will work. I will be taking pre-paid orders for the badges. I am going to give everyone about two (2) weeks (until Friday, June 10, 2005) to send in their orders and payments. After that, I will no longer take pre-paid orders and I will order enough badges to cover the pre-paid orders and maybe I will order a few extra sets (but let me be clear, if you don't get a pre-paid order in there is no guaranty that you will get badges at all and I may have to charge you even more for the badges ;) ).
I am a lawyer (barely) and not a salesman, so the following is not a sales pitch: This may very well be the last time that these badges are made. The car is now long out of production and most of the cars have been accounted for. So, unless the demand in the future warrants it, I will not be making any more badges. Heck, given my latest purchase, I may be turning my attention to producing Mustang parts.
If you want in on the deal, here is what you need to do: Send me an e-mail at martin_ochs@hotmail.com and put the words "Fender Badges" as the subject. I will send you back an e-mail with instructions on where to send payment. The price will be $49.95 per set with no delivery charges, regardless of how many sets you order.

I've ordered my badges but just saw this photo on Ebay. It's on the fender of a silver birch MM which is for sale. I hope the blemishes are a function of the photo and not an inherant problem with the badges. Has anyone who has them seen this kind of defect? Not trying to rain on the parade but wonder if the badges will last a long time and still look good. Thanks,

Quite a presumption you introduce here, that there is something wrong with the badge, and not it's care and feeding. I was part of the design/production for the first run of these fender badges two years ago. It was my idea, and MartyO arranged for nothing short of the finest materials and craftmanship. Unless he has changed suppliers, your badges will last longer than the fender you stick 'em on.

Mike: I sent you an e-mail.
For those of you who didn't order, more folks promised to order than actually came through, so I went out of pocket to make the minimum order for the badges. So for those folks who did not pre-order, I am selling the badges on a "first come, first served" basis. This may sound like a sales pitch (it isn't), but don't wait too long to order because I only have a few sets of the badges left that aren't spoken for.
I will also be sending some sets of the badges to Dave (MI2QWK4U) to be raffled off or dealt with as he sees fit at MVIII. These sets are courtesy of Mac and me.
Given the waining interest in the badges, it really does look like this may be the last time that they are produced.

Okay kiddies, the badges were received by me today and all of the orders were shipped tonight (I stayed late in the office {cue violins playing in background here), except one Canadian order that went to the post office this a.m. in the hands of my paralegal and one order that will ship tomorrow morning because that person also ordered a T shirt.
I shipped ll orders via Priority Mail, so you should start receiving them as soon as Friday and in most instances not later than Monday or Tuesday. I hope you all enjoy them.
A few sets are being shipped out for MVIII giveaways, raffles or whatever. After that I have about five sets left and they will be sold on a first come, first served basis. I don't know if these will ever be produced again, so grab 'em while you can.

You can mount them anywhere you want. Like me most mounted them on the front fender, just above the body side moulding, ahead of the fron door leading edge. Some mounted the flags facing forward, some facing backwards. I bought an extra set in case mine get stolen or an accident destroys them.

I like the 3M tape myself, but adhesives are like superchargers and everyone has an opinion about them. And, I didn't want any flame wars over adhesives. :D
Also, a member here enlightened me that the badges could be used as magnets as well. Now that was a smart idea!
Anyone want more badges? :D

I got the badges last week or so...
I never really had any intention of putting them on my black MM....
I just thought they would be nice to have....:)
Well......................I washed and polished it all up this morning....
thought.....what the heck..... I'll just put a little folded masking tape on the back of one of the badges and stick it on just to see what it might look like...:)
HOLLY COW....GREAT CAESER'S GHOST....WOW....ZING....ZAP... .ETC., ETC...
It looks unbelivable....really cool retro....
Has anyone set "sort of a standard" on the placement on the fender panel....
like 4" above waist band and 3" forward of door?
Got to go get some double stick badge tape....:D
check with y'all soon.....

Try 1" above the side molding, 1" forward of the door, w/ the flags to the rear.
See how you like that for a start.

I got a set when 1st offered, finding them to be of good quality, but the tape was rather " thick " and left a gap that would allow for the badge to get pulled off if a rag or what ever was passed by it. I still have mine and would like to put them on. Logan tells me they used the same body tape as Ford uses and has had no problems, yet mine where sent with standard 3M type double sided tape, appox. 1/8" thick ! Rather than lose em , I am holding on til I find some good body tape.

I HAVE NEVER HAD A BODY TAPE SANDWICH BUT MY MONEY IS ON THE PEANUT BUTTER....WE HAD A THREAD THIS PAST WEEK ON THE USE OF PEANUT BUTTER TO REMOVE WAX BUILD-UP ON KEY PADS SPECIFICALLY BUT ALSO OTHER AREAS WERE WAX BUILD-UPS TURN GRAY. IT SEEMS THAT THE OIL FROM THE PB SOFTENS THE WAX AND MAKES REMOVAL EASY (AS ON MY MM BADGES) I REFUSE TO ADMIT KNOWLEDGE OF MORE THAN THESE 2 USES FOR PB.:)
