I've been meaning to ask this question for a while now (but always forget  ).
I see photos of many of your engines that have "Silver" colored valve covers. Mine are black. Not only are they black, but they look like they were painted with a "Krinkle" Black. I don't mind, but I just want to know if there was a running change in the MM from black to silver, or did you paint them yourselves?
My Continental Intec V8 also has Black valve covers, but they are a smooth shiny black.

I believe that all the '04 MMs got the 'natural' aluminum cam covers...

Just another way to show how Ford cut corners on the vehicle from 2003 to 2004

Sure this has been asked before but ...
Are painted ones available thru Ford or aftermarket ?

I would think you could order the painted ones from FORD
(Parts Department)....Try contacting Ray Sr. "The Dealer"
here on the net. for prices.
Gotta Love it! :burnout:

If you order new valve (cam) covers they will come unfinished. Old part numbers superseded.
Good thing since they are ready for powdercoating. The painted '03 covers weren't exactly beauty queens.

My 03 300B has black valve covers and an "InTech 32 Valve V8" Chrome or something lettered smaller cover on the drivers side under the intake plumbing. Thought it was kinda odd because it would be much easier to see in full if it was on the passenger side (In my mind it should be on bothsides). Must be a parts bin or Mustang thing?

Go figure... mine is on the passenger side... I thought they should come in pairs too... maybe an assembly line worker was collecting them?

That's the way they're supposed to be, it was originally a 'stang engine which has the throttle body on the opposite side. I also believe they should have been in matching pairs, but cost cutting...
