I pulled out my floormats yesterday to clean them and found that the carpet is virtually gone from where my heel rests on the mat while driving. Fortunately I have a spare set that I got from Ray "TheDealer" so when I enter shows or whenever the OEM ones totally wear out I won't have to worry about them being discontinued. Y'all ought to check out your mats and if needed order a spare set while you can still get them. BTW, I have 58,000 miles on mine.

I had a set of floormats that did that at where my heel rests. They were a cheap $10/set (carpeted/fuzzy) and wore right through.

I switched over to heavy rubber floormats from Wal-Mart and they're much more durable.

I saw pics of the official Ford floormats and I certainly did better by buying the $20 Ford rubber floormats from Walmart rather than spend the $50? or so that Ford wanted.

My original floormats stay in the garage when I'm not showing my MM. Got some nice heavy-duty black carpeted replacements from Wally World for about $20.00, they've held up good for the last 18,00 miles. When I show my MM I put the originals right on top of the everyday mats. The wife didn't understand why I bought new mats for $20.00 until she saw the price of new MM mats :awe:

I'm saving them for when I show off the car. No one wants to see some grody mats in a show car :P :coolman:

MY original mats are badly worn (44,000 mi) and I have been trying to replace them for months :help: --Ray only has black ones---I have an unopened set of these that I will trade for a set of the light charcoal ones--if anyone has a spare set, I'll buy them for cash--I'm getting desparate :mad2: anyone with these mats should protect them at once---I think they are gone for good

I went a little crazy and ordered a complete OEM set (front & rear) PLUS a second spare front set from Ray.....Now I don't worry about wearing out my original set of mats*.
I can't drive without my 'MARAUDER' mats showing every time I open the door!

BTW, has anyone tried to place a heavy vinyl/rubber inset where the carpet has worn out??? Some cars OEM mats have this inset right where your heel wears on the mat.....It is a nice idea, as the mat's carpet wears out quickest in this spot.
I wonder if an upholstery shop could 'fix up' an OEM 'MARAUDER' mat with a 'wear inset'...??

*My mats have had NO wear for the last 11 months!!! I've gotta get that new 5.0 DOHC in between the MM's fenders soon!!! :depress:

I used my originals for a month and then packed them up and replaced them with the Mercury emblem rubber ones that Ray The Dealer was selling. Just did the fronts, as the backs hold up far longer and are easily repleaceable. I haven't set aside the $75 or $80 for another set of the OEM mats from Ray.

These rubber ones have held up very well, and can just be hosed off and drip dried and look as good as new. They don't look cheap in the car as some of the rubber ones do, and set off the car prett well.

I figure with the originals as a model I can always get some made up down the road with the Marauder name on them for not too much $ if necessary.

I got a set of 4 Roadrunner mats when I had my Contour.
The mats cost me $24.99 for the set, at my local car wash.
They had about 50,000 miles on them when I purchased the Marauder.
I just flipped 31,000 today, and the mats now have over 80,000 miles on them.
They don't look worn at all. A little dirty, but not worn.

The Marauder mats sit underneath them, so they don't get worn out.
