New technology...

I know what you're thinking though. My 79 Lincoln releases in R, D, 2, and 1. Some engineer (and I'm gunna be one of these someday mind you) decided you should be backing into your parking spot, and pulling out, not vise versa... :shake:

nexstar:The dealer will tell you "they all do that" if they have the auto release that is!

My parking brake does not hold the car. : ( on the fix list now. Canadian auto plants must be gettin hammered harder than the U.S. plants. Never heard of a parking brake not workin on any car before... pathetic! It's almost as lame as no active supension or wheel locks. It's just plain embarrasing.

vader, that's something that should have been checked and corrected in the dealer PDI

What you are experiencing is the normal and proper operation of the auto-release..."they all do that"...

Nextstar7.....you are exactly right. It does not make much sense.
Other LM products I have owned.....released the parking brake in forward or reverse. This one doesn't. Go figure. Cost reduction ?

LML......Dang you are right again.......it is a Chrysler.....lol
