View Full Version : Killed...? (NOT!)

A Trilogy MM was crusing at about 55 - 60 mph on a road with no name in anytown USA when a red Dodge Magnum pulls up along side. The MM slows down a bit and the driver observes the Magnum cruise. The Magnum rear bumper was even with the MM front bumper. Then....the Magnum slows...and so does the MM. But the Magnum slowed to about one car length back behind the MM. As they meandered down the road..it ocurred to the driver of the MM that this guy was just checkin out the MM. I guess not! Mr. Magnum took off before Mr. Marauder knew the game was on

The MM driver was thinking WTF was that ****nit! Of course the Magnum cuts the MM off and turns, cheating the MM from a shot at redemption

In a situation like that, provided that the road is wide open without much if any traffic, the said MM driver could've just hammered down on the go pedal for about one full second, and then abruptly backed off and resumed a cruising demeanor to see if the Magnum driver would take the bate. And if the magnum driver did, then the MM driver could've just hammered the go pedal and kept it there as soon as the magnum driver acted. Ofcourse that works a whole lot better when and if the said MM has headers and an aftermarket exhaust so that it would more likely grab the Magnum driver's attention in a more dramatic fashion.

Or as stated in a recent post, Said MM driver could smile and wave at the Magnum driver all knowing that the MM driver could waste the Magnun at any given time. I have not achieved or displayed such self control as of yet!:D

Is their hope for me?:help:

Magnum was my first choice. Just too much cash right now and I'm uncertain if Chryco can maintain adequate quality yet. Awesome car, great motor, looks fantastic and is useful with the added cargo space - all without having to buy an off road vehicle. So I guess I'm someone who likes 'em. :D Why would you ask?

It's a weird story though... I had a 300C do about the same thing a month or so ago. I guess that's the standard operating procedure for those cars.

It is rather difficult, isn't it !! :seesaw:

This should have been an indicator of his intentions !!

Got sucker punched, eh? Sorry dude, happens that way sometimes. All I ask for is a fair chance, I'll take my lumps, but I haven't seen many ambitious Magnums around here lately.

On a Dodge board somewhere, I'm sure..."I gave him a whole car length, and still walked his azz..."

Yeah, right...

..oh yeah --I agree Sarge----there are a few I do remember --and when I'm on the road again...should they show----well....it'll be another storytime for us to enjoy....

Weird thread. Some of the guy's on that thread sound like they just want to repeat the same spec over and over again...
"But that's a 15 to 16 sec car." But there was no acceptance of Goober's comments that since the Magnum is essentially a 14 to 15 sec. car... there might be a time when the Marauder is on par with the other...

Aw well... it's all just a hammer swinging contest anyway.

That trash talker is in Chesapeake, I could almost throw a rock and hit Chesapeake. I should look him up and then hook him up, Dark Pearl Blue style!

I like that approach when I'm in the Cobra, as VERY few vehicles will try anything at all! :(

It is actually easier to maintain one's cool when you KNOW that they don't have a prayer.

Occasionally a RICER will pull up next to me at a light and motion like he wants to race.... ........

I just laugh and inform them that they are not worth the 93 octane to prove the obvious & inevitable... :D

He was probably trying to figure out if you were "on duty."

While caravaning to and from Cedar Falls, I laughed everytime a car swooped up, tucked in behind, then burned past us after the light came on. :thinker:

We were just cruising so it didn't bother me a bit. :bandit:

Sounds like most of the people on that site only now how to quote specs they read from road test reveiws in C & D or R & T. Oh well, at least I now what to do the next time I see a Magnum or 300C....

What a bunch of Tools on that site. They think The Magnum is the fastest Thing on 4 wheels. I have personally seen a Magnum get smoked by a 05 V-6 Mustang! Where are the posts about that?? I also seen a Magnum run 15.2's all day at the track! But Obviously he had a beer can under the accelerator or some other kind of Page out of the "Book of excuses" gets Read from on that message board. Bottom Line, Id rather have the Sport "Sedan" then the Sport "Wagon"
