I am going to try to drive the MM less (impossible task that probably won't last a week) and want a good car cover to keep the crap and water off the car while it sits in the sun.

I figured I'd search for Crown Vic covers but thought you guys had some recomendations on which to buy.

I've had some in the past that kept water out and others that seemed to let it bleed through, especially if it was wet when I was trying to remove it- which is better?

A Noah or Weathershield cover are two of the best. A bit pricey but you get excellent protection without harming the paint.

Ryan,

I cover mine with a "California Car Cover" that I had made for my 89 GM.

The fit is not perfect, but does a good job. Years ago, this cost ~$200.00.

Check this out, . .

I got an all-weather cover from my L-M dealer for a Grand Marquis (which of course is a perfect fit). I like the all-weather, which lets water come through and evaporate out, because you don't have to worry about water/moisture getting trapped underneath and affecting the paint if you need to leave it outside for a few days or longer. If you just need short-term protection and want to keep it dry during a brief rain or whatever, then get the more closed type.

So with this type, when the water soaks through does it leave water spots?

I have one of Cal Car Cover's top of the line covers. The one I ordered fits like a glove.

When my Vic had to sit out everynight for approximatley 2 years, I used this cover nightly unless the car was filthy.

I believe all covers allow some moisture to pass through. However, It is quicky elminated in the morning with a quick detailer, and a quality towel.

During the winter, the Vic once sat for 2 weeks with about a foot of snow on it. When I finally removed the cover, the Vic just had a few moist spots but looked like the car had been in a garage the entire time.

If The group is serious about a Custom Marauder Car Cover then we can help. We will have a Custom Embroidered Marauder Car Cover that will have all the same features as our Corvette C5 Car Covers for the same price of $199.95. You may check out the car covers on our website www.carmotorsports.com (http://www.carmotorsports.com) Just let me know if 100 guys are in on a group purchase. It will include a Godshead on the Storage Bag and on the Front of the Cover as well as a Marauder on the Rear in whatever Color you wish. Comes complete with Cable and Lock along with our patented Strap tie-down system. This can be accomplished, just need the numbers to set up the pattern.

Thanks, Rich

Yes, big time-it will not help keep the car clean, but just prevents moisture from being trapped underneath. That's why I only use it when I have to leave my car outside unattended for a few days or more. It'll also keep the interior from getting too hot and will provide at least some protection against hail.

At still only 1.2K miles on the clock, I rarely drive my '03 (which takes a lot of discipline), so I'm definitely in the market for a cover, and am willing to pay $200 for a good one. Are you implying that the one you're describing isn't yet made, but will be made if 100 people ante up?

My MM is outside due to my wifes car in the garage (won't give me both stalls) along with my Mustang and my HD. I have had excellent results with the Evolution cover from Covercraft. Heavy rain does bleed through, but dries quickly. I cover my car every night and when I fly off for business to keep it out of the hot Florida sun. I have used the Evolution cover for my past three cars and have great success with them. Just my opinion...
