All,

We had a little spammer sign up and hit the board with 117 posts for illicit websites. New user registrations will be manually approved for the time being to prevent this user from returning.

He works for a company called ASC corporation out of Japan. I've banned a couple of his subnets he was using, so we should be ok.

Some of you posted threads regarding him, they've been removed and I'd ask that if we do get hit again, please just use the report post to moderator (Thanks to the many folks who did!).

The reason being, it takes me all of 2 seconds to remove ALL posts by a particular user, but if I have to scan for all posts referencing that user or his comments, It takes a lot longer to clean up the mess.

Nooooo problems mon!!

The mentality of spamming a board with over 100 posts like that goes beyond my comprehension.
Do they think it isn't noticed if they only do one? Do they think the more they spam the more likely we are to be endeared and patronise their business?

It is nothing short of modern graffiti, a form of "tagging" if you will.

The spam was a link to a "kinky celebrities" web site. Go figure.

I have noticed several people who joined this forum just to have thier wed site posted and they just happen to offer a service or product and you never here from them again. They could care less about the MM. Just IMHO. John
