For all those who have this combined upgrade, I'm experiencing a whine coming from the gear box or torque converter, it's audible at Idle and when accelerating, it's tone changes with the gear shifts, like noise coming thru your speakers with bad reception and changing with the speed of the car. :(

Is this normal for the PI Torque Conv. or the Level II Trans. Upgrade due to the function of these components together, I was told it was nothing to worry about. :shake:

The Marauder functions good and shifts good and the torque conv. locks and unlocks like normal.

Before the upgrade, I never had this whine coming from anywhere, no it's not the power steering pump, nor the A/C compressor, nor the alternator. :help:

What are your experiences in this matter. Just my concern, Thanks.

I had both the level II and the torque converter done at the same time on my car and I did not notice any difference in the sound, nothing like a whine. Then or now.

I agree with Valleyman, this isn't customary or normal. Trace your steps backwards, recheck your specs?

Thanks Dennis, I did receive your e-mail and it says to call you this afternoon, I will call you this afternoon. :chat: Before I left your shop, you did mention to me that you would replace the tranny if needed, this is my first experience with an automatic tranny, a high performance one at that, all my previous cars have been manual shift. :dunno:

I was just trying to get a feel of other members experience in this matter, has nothing to do with who did their install or what shop, I've seen your shop and been there and it's top notch, including the crew. :nworthy: I hope you didn't take this the wrong way, sorry if you did, didn't mean too. Talk to you soon.

Again we are talking about a very mild wine, Carlos had this when he Left my shop months ago and he loved the car, http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17384
I told him at that time if he wanted to bring the car back I would just replace it since I keep a spare here at all times, I hope every one has a good weekend and I want to thank everyone for all there support and the orders we received this week.

All is well now, :2thumbs: called Dennis up to schedule an appointment to have my tranny fixed, went down there to Dennis shop on 20 Jun 05. Dennis had his tranny specialist evaluate the noise and there was a slight whine present. He determined that it wasn't anything to be concerned with(normal and within specs.) that I could leave it on with no problems at all or replace it with another one. I choose to have it replaced, Dennis stated "what ever makes the customer happy". :bows: Dennis is truly a man of his word and I would recommend his services to anyone, Thanks Dennis.
