Hey guys, just thought I'd drop by and introduce myself. You may have seen my thread in the main community page, I just purchased on '03 Marauder on Monday. Got it from Passport Chrysler in Alexandria, VA.
I'm living in Kingstowne right now, pretty much between Alexanrdia and Springfield. Used to live in Nokesville which is south of Manassas. Parent's still live there and I drive out there pretty much every weekend thanks to the garage and more room to work on the car. :)
Just curious if anyone knows or not, but there is a pretty big cruise night in Manassas. It's at the Burger King off Rte 28...right off the 234 bypass near Manassas Airport.
Yeah I know, "Burger King???"...well this place has a huge parking lot and on a night night the crowds are great. People begin to gather early, probably as early as noon. Many come from pretty far away...even other states.
During the day and early evening it's predominately American Muscle and Hot Rods. At night it becomes more late model American Muscle and imports. Many of the older cars seem to filter away at the night falls. Also plenty of bikes too.
I'm hoping to make it down Saturday to show the Marauder off. I'm sure it'll go off well, my friend has a '99 Town Car and gets a surprisingly large amount of attention. :)
Anyway, looking forward to participating in some CAM events when possible. :)

I'll have to try and make it to the cruise one Saturday. Unfortunately, June is gonna be a bad month because I have alot of Saturday committments.
We are on the southern fringe of CAM territory -- so it's a long haul for alot of members. That's why Big Bat's on Kent Island was selected as a centralized location.
The Burger King off 234 and 28 is not too far from me. Merc (another CAM member) has told me about this and noted that evenings got pretty ricey as I recall. There's also Friday night gathering of the Prince William Cruisers at BJs on the Prince William Parkway near Minnieville Road. :D

Do they still have a cruise night in the parking lot behind the 'Pollo' chicken/mexican restaurant on RT28 in Manassas Park?

Joe ... several years ago there was a big cruise in Manassas on 234 at the Checker's burger place. Unfortunately, the lots around it got so crowded that the other businesses and restaurants complained about losing customers. Eventually, they were forced to move out of town and that's how they ended up at the Route 28 Burger King.
I thought the place near Pollo's was a used car dealership where "Your Job is your Credit"

Yeah, that is the used car lot directly across RT 28...run by 'HABEEB'.
The lot right behind Pollo's (Pollos actually sits in the corner of the lot) used to have a good cruiser crowd.

Wow...so 2 friends of mine came along and we took the Marauder to the "hot rod" show at the Burger King. Unfortunately since I was so busy taking stuff off my Grand Am which I had to take up to the dealer, we didn't get there until well after 9pm...nearly 10pm.
Let's just say if you're not going there early it's somewhat pointless. Yes it was packed, but it was basically full of Honda's and Neon's, and the class of people was down a lot. Most people there were younger and trying to show off in the parking lot which meant people trying to do fwd brakestands, loud subwoofers, and who knows what else.
The Marauder did attract a bit of a crowd, even though this wasn't typically the crowd that would like a big V8 rwd car. :)
Next Sat. I'll be gone, but hopefully week after that I can make it up during the day and check out some hot rods, muscle cars, and see how the Marauder fares in that crowd.
