Say the 2004 MM has side air bags.
Is that true ?

Mine does. There are little "Airbag" tags on the outside of the front seats.

The only 1 that I know that doesn't is the 1999 Concept and I think the Convertible concept. not to sure about the Converty though.

So we know that there are "Airbag" tags on the seats anyway.

After having airbags deploy in my 1997 Crwon Vic LX during an accident, I can honestly say that I do not look forward to having twice as many go off the next time.

Airbags going off in your face suck.
The alternative sucks worse though.

The side impact airbags are standard equipment on all 2003 and 2004 Marauders. :)

The 4th digit in the VIN (letter "h") states that the vehicle is equipped with side air bags. GMs and CVs without them would have the letter "F" instead.

My nephew was involved in a pretty bad accident on Friday a week ago. :( He's convinced that that airbags saved his life. Bad bruising and scabbing where the shoulder harness bit him across the upper body. He was knocked unconscious for about 10 minutes. He's fine now ... but sore !! :D
He was slowing down to make a left into his subdivision in his GMC pick-up. He estimates his speed as 20 mph. A 19 year old coming the other direction in a Jeep Grand Cherokee about 40 mph drifted into his lane while fiddling with the radio or CD or something. Zero reaction time. They met left grill & headlight to left grill & headlight. The GMC crumpled 3/4 the distance to the windshield.
Anyway, he's OK and is a definitely believer in the air bags.
