I have been playing around with the shift points on my car for awhile now with quicktune and the xcalibrator and notice that they seem to drift around a lot on the 1-2 shift. The 2-3 seems to be rock steady no matter how I shift it. I finally realized over the last day that the car shifts differently based on what I'm doing. If I take off from a stop with the shifter in "D" it will shift out about 5900rpms everytime. If I start out with the shifter in 1st and then immediately move it to "D" once I floor it it will shift at 6100-6200rpms. I use this method in rolling street start type races as it avoids the pause while the tranny is kicking down, I usually have shifted it to "D" before the RPMS even reach 3500 so its not my late shifting causing the issue. It also shifts the 1-2 at 6100-6200rpms if I floor it at a steady cruise of say 15-30 mph and it kicks down to 1st gear. Just wondering if anybody else has noticed this difference in shifting on their car.

Just for reference, I recently (approx 1k mi ago) changed the tranny filter and flushed a whole case of Mercon V fluid thru the transmission. I thought I'd cover that as I figured some would say to change the fluid and filter.

Sounds Normal to me. My Car From a dead stop will shift at 5900-6000RPMs However, If I go to shift it manually, It would rev all the way out and bounce off the rev limiter (6400) My Car Is not Happy being shifted manually! I have the SCT tuner as well and I didnt play with the shift points that Reinhart Programmed. The Tuner is supposed to give the best shift points to keep the engine in the powerband.

Hope this helped

Yes, I altered my SCT program for the gears when I installed them. I've been playing with it off/on since then due to the discrepancy in shifting. Plus the DR flash had the TQ conv locking immediately after the WOT 1-2 shift and I didn't care for the bog when it locked up that early in 2nd gear so I changed that. If the 1-2 shift after the kick down would hit at the same point as the 1-2 shift from a dead stop I'd be happy with it. Based on what you've said its probably completely normal, I guess I'm just too critical...:(
