<!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --> Repost here,
Still Interested in the Underbody Light kits, the factory OEM style kits are available. I've been a little slow getting the vendor account setup with Logan, that should be good to go.
What we have here is a close representation of the factory Security/Valet lighting kit. The main difference is I've had the brackets designed from Aluminum (not steel like OEM) for no rust, they are Powder coated black (not painted like OEM), more durable. We use sealed, vibration/shock resistant bulbs, hardware is included, even 3M tap splices for those not inclined to solder, all wires have protective cover where required. The wire harness is designed specifically for the 99-up Panther platform, instructions provided to connect to your Marauder, CV, or GM.
Anyway take a closer look here (http://www.marauderconcepts.com/); retail is $159.99 plus shipping and tax.
For MM.net members, I'll offer a group buy price of $149.99 including shipping to the lower 48 (FedEx Ground). Florida residents add sales tax. All you need is 5 buyers....
When we get the required amount of buyers, I'll PM you with instructions.
For references, you can check with SoulRiot he has them installed on his car, and Ghost03 has seen these on both my car (test mule) and SoulRiot's car.
So far we have two, FordNut and Second Wind.

Factory cars have these lights up under the car? I've never seen or noticed one.

I believe it was an option to get them at one point. But from what I remember they are now out of production or something.
Hopefully someone else will fill in the blanks.... I just dont know.

Yes it was an option that was discontinued.

Our friends at Ford created these style kits originally and they were sold aftermarket, although like the MM they were not advertised too well. Hence they were discontinued, I went about creating these kits again, ordering new parts, fabricating the rest, including brackets, wire harness, etc. I tailored this for the MM, my own personal 03 300A playing the role of test mule.
They look very 'clean' when on, and are not 'rice' at all. .
Any questions drop me a PM or I'll try to check the post tomorrow AM/PM.
Regards,
Marc

I'm interested...any pictures of it mounted UNDER the car?
Where does it mount and what electrical line do you tap in to?
Comes on with the interior lights?
Thanks, Joe

The bracket/lamps mount about 34" back from the rearmost edge of the front wheel wells.
see pic for underbody placement

I got them installed on the wife's car Saturday by Jason at Team Ford. He has installed a few of the OEM kits and said this kit is much better than the OEM kit.

I installed mine about 1 week ago. The kit is very good quality. The harness looks great.
Just make sure you have a good drill bit to drill the mounting holes in the frame. If you follow the updated install instructions and tap the hole instead of letting the self tapping screw do it you need a less common drill bit size(at least it wasnt in my drill bit kit 17/64ths). I screwed up and bought one that was less quality. It took forever.
But the Craftsman coated high speed drill bits I had (which were not the correct size) drilled right through it. I just had to get as close to the appropriate size as I could then use the cheapo bit to finish.

I saw them on both Shakes26 , and SoulRiots MM and they look great. Im going to get mine in the next week and have them installed around the same time. At night it really makes the ground light up and helps those that cant see well at night or people who are drunk find their car......Great product

Shakes, can these be self-installed, or should I have the dealer do it (God forbid) or an auto-electric shop? I have no doubt that I could mount them no problem, it's just routing and connecting the electrical that I would need to have help with in the form of detailed instructions.
Thanks,
Norm

Norm -- I installed my lighting kit and I could walk you through it no problem if you get hung up. My kit was the Ford kit but I bet the new one ties into the wiring harness at the same points and that the harness enters the body pan at the same point. I'm just an e-mail or phone call away -- just let me know when you're gonna do it so I know to be around. To do it RIGHT takes a few hours and why pay the shop bill? And from your previous posts it sounds like your local dealership is, quite frankly, populated by idiots who cannot be trusted with your car. PM me if you decide to self-install. :D

PM me if you decide to self-install. :D Valleyman, thanks very much for the generous offer!, and I will take you up on it for sure when I get the kit. Right now I have a PI 3000, DR's rear engine cooling kit, Level II tranny kit and Art Carr pan, and a new Meziere water pump sitting in my garage waiting for $ to get them installed, so need to decide whether to spring for this now, or maybe wait and possibly miss out later on, as I'm not sure how available this will be later. I also need to budget some $ to get the car to an SCT Dynotune place in San Jose after all the mods are installed to get a new tune setup.
Your mods to your MM have kind of been my guide since I signed on with a new MM last July, so I really appreciate the offer. Once I get it together I will drop you a PM and coordinate on the best time for you.
Thanks again,
Norm
P.S. and you're right about the dealer. I force myself to take the car there for warranty covered items, but have tried to do most of the other mods myself or pay my mechanic, who is a great guy but not particularly cheap.

Glad to help. I'm familiar with the parts-sitting-in the-garage-instead-of-being-on-the-car syndrome. Sometimes it just takes a while to get things organized: my KVRs sat in my garage for six months before I got them on.

SVashtar, absolutely you could DIY these kits. I think the hardest part is drilling for the mounting bolts. I provided step by step (MM specific) instructions. And as Valleyman said why pay some nimrod to do it when you can save the $$
Schuvwj, you've got a PM headed your way.
Rob,
We'll talk, I've been sick all weekend, so next W-E?

The instructions are good. You can do it.
The worst part was laying on my back trying to find places to ziptie the harness to. I am 6'6" and 270. They dont make these footwells for people my size.
Also, like I said in my post above. Just make sure you buy quality drill bit. Meant for drilling through steel. Craftsman makes some that have a gold colored coating on them. They work great.
