What are the best mods for a trilogy car, and if possible some b4 and after dyno numbers would be great. Thanks

Anything that makes that big air pump more efficient will be a plus. I have JLTs intake on and noticed a little improvement with a boost to 10 psi. 4:10s? I like em, but that makes the traction problem worse. I shall begin my research into wheels and tires soon. I am going with the Kooks exhaust with (most likey) FRPP dule mode mufflers.

88 other trilogy members and only Defyant has done a mod, the rest of you must be like me and do not have any money left.

Well you know what I've done just by my sig, but keep in mind that all those other mods besides the Trilogy kit were all done before I had ever decided to supercharge the car, and I probably wouldn't have performed most of them had I just Trilogized the car in the first place. For instance the 4.56's and the aftermarket torque converter with a 3,000 RPM stall speed wouldn't have been needed. The one thing that I definately would've went with anyway would be the Kooks headers and complete bolt-on exhaust package because it makes the car sound great. If I got beat by a Camaro or a TA like you did, then I likely would've went with the 4.10 gears, BUT DEFINATELY with the drag radials first.

Most cars that approach the 400RWHP mark, and have the potential to get into the 12 second bracket will need drag radials to do that on a consistent basis and will suffer traction issues off the line if standard radiald are used. it's just a fact of life. Your tractions problems now can be looked at as a good thing since the reason you didn't have them before the supercharger installation is simply because your engine didn't have the power to break the tires loose very easily. if you want big power, you have to spend some money for better rubber. That's all there is to it unless you just want to do burnouts all over the place. And with a supercharged Marauder, you can always do burnouts when you really want to no matter what tires you have on the back.

Hi,

After reading and talking to several other members, I think the general conclusion is that the Trilogy kit itself (or a comparable kit) is the best bang for the buck. That said, the only other mods I'm looking at for my newly s/c'd car is a K&N filter/intake setup and headers with high-flow exhaust.

Performance-wise, I personally don't think I'll need anymore. I feel this combination of mods will make the engine very efficient, in and out.

Outside of the engine, I *may* get wider rims at some point and depending on the interior noise of the headers, I *may* dynamat the car. Otherwise, only the simply cosmetic upgrades (ss insters, door sills, tints).

Is the k&n cold air better than the jlt, the jlt is half the price. How much is the kooks complete exh from the headers back.

How much is the kooks complete exh from the headers back.Exhaust mods cost more $$ than intake mods do, but on the Marauder, the weak link is the stock exhaust. Much more so than the intake system. If you ever looked closely at the underside of your car (especially while it's on a lift) you'll see what I mean. Four very restrictive cats as well as muffler pipes that actually neck down to a puney 2" diameter. Along with the stock exhaust manifolds and the restrictive mufflers. The Kooks complete set-up cost me $1,600. That was including the ceramic coating of the headers which I highly recommend regardless of what they're made out of.

How much is the kooks complete exh from the headers back.tx, it's a sort of unwritten rule that we try not to discuss pricing in public, unless the vendor wants to do so...

Whether you choose the Kooks setup or Dennis's Cobra system, a high-flow exhaust will make a bigger difference when you have a blower than if you put the same system on a N/A car...I would say it's definitely worth it. This applies to ANY vendor's supercharger...

While I dont have a Trilogy yet, all my mods have been bought with it in mind. What you need to figure out is what you want out of your Marauder. If all you want out of it is more HP then state it. Are you going to be only using it at the track then state it. Just to ask what are the best mods leaves too much room for interpitation (sp). No flaming, but this will help you in the future.

Sorry RF, The only exh upgrade i have read on here was the kooks i did not know there were others. If the prices of a product from a vendor vary so much between customers than i dont want to give them my business anyways. The internet was desighned to inform people about superior products and price comparing. If a vendor charges different prices based on how well he knows you or how he feels that day then that is unfair and not professional. And if people cant state their experience and opinion of products without vendors getting upset then the vendors need to rework their product and/or pricing. It seems like 75% of the threads i start by trying to get info either get locked, blocked or pissed on by another member. I would like to do mods that are proven to work and are resonably priced $-hp then to keep buying parts hoping one will do something. Out of all the forums I belong to, this one is the least informative regaurding performance gains and pricing. I have sunk enough money into this car I think i will leave it alone for a while, and return to the turb buick forums. The only reason i left there was because i thought people on here shared their experiences and opinions and pricing for people to come to their own conclusion as they did on that site.

To everyone who helped me in making my own decision based on opinions and info i REALLY want to THANK YOU.

Jerry Barnes I hope i can make it to Woodward so i can meet you. You seem to be a business man that everyone should try to be like.

I can only tell you what I brought to the table prior to Trilogy, 290 rwhp/306 rwtq. I can offer you an opinion that is quite educated....improve your air intake and your exhaust and your Trilogy will like it.:)

And if people cant state their experience and opinion of products without vendors getting upset then the vendors need to rework their product and/or pricing.tx, that's not the way it is at ALL...it's just that sometimes members of a given board can receive group rates that may or may not apply to other boards, so why start price wars? I didn't mean my comment to be a criticism of you, just wanted to let you know that we prefer our members deal directly with the vendors for pricing, rather than speculating. If a vendor chooses to post his prices on the board, then that is certainly not a problem.

I thought people on here shared their experiences and opinions and pricing for people to come to their own conclusion...Perhaps you missed a couple of threads...most members here are very happy to share their experiences and opinion of what works and what doesn't...I'm sorry you don't see it that way...if you're truly interested in improving the performance of your MM, stick around a little longer, I'm sure you'll get the info you need; sometimes you can't get all the answers in one thread.

txmarauder: I understand how you feel about prices and what people paid for mods thing, some folks don't like to discuss what they paid for a mod, and will turn around and tell you the most personal details of their private lives.

It is in the vendors best interest that people do not discuss what they paid for goods and services. I have never believed that it is in our best interest...simply because it is not in our best interest. We have a great Forum and a great club, but it is not perfect, so you need to find the information that you need like this: decide what you want and PM the members that already made that purchase and ask point blank what they paid, be prepared to be told "none of your business" because some will tell you just that.

Others will tell you exactly what they paid, when and from what vendor, then contact the vendor and ask exactly what the price is TODAY and decide whether you think it is a good price or not.....I can't be more blunt than this....good luck.:)

It never stops.I haven't spent any $$ for modifications for 14 months now since I've installed the Trilogy supercharger. I'm very satisfied with the way my car moves, and have been for over a year now. Many people have told me I should go with a smaller blower pulley for more boost, but I'm quite satisfied with the 9.5 LBS of boost. The car is an animal, and I'm content.
